What were Pop and the old white haired guy whining about at the end of the game? I don't know who it was, maybe the Spurs owner? They did a close up and and he was clearly saying F you to somebody.
Yes, it was the owner. And it was over the LAC clock management guys screwing up the play clock and exposing the Spurs' 1-second inbounds play.
I don't hate SA..... I just hate the Spurs. One bad season in 30 years and they get Duncan. All you so-called Rockets fans secretly (or openly) cheering for them should be ashamed. SA only has one game in town and they're good.... let's not act like they've done something noble because they support a winner.
Should be ashamed because they're not the Rockets, or because there's a particular reason to dislike their team?
LOVED the spurs losing. Looking forward to the day when that franchise is wallowing in mediocrity in the Western conference.
1) Division rival 2) They're lucky There's nothing wrong with cheering for other teams, but cheering for rivals is so disrespectful to your own team, it's unbelievable. Some people don't believe SA is a rival, which deems the fandom toward their own team highly suspect. If you (not you personally) don't understand, you don't understand sports. That alone is reason to be ashamed, BUT also.... Spurs are some lucky a**** to get Duncan in the first place. They paid no dues to re-load that quickly.
Rockets should be estatic the Spurs lost. They would have lost to them. Rockets will easily beat Clips. 5 games.
^^ and reload is not really the correct term, since that usually applies to successful playoff teams, which SAS never was. IMO the correct term is saving a franchise that couldn't do much with what they had Btw. Pretty much every title winner got lucky in the lottery, just not like the Spurs And these rockets are not lucky. The GM delivered by maintaining trading flexibility while not tanking
Surprised you guys are so harsh on the Spurs. Great fans. Franchise has been winning for a long long time. I hate Dallas but never San Antonio. .
How can anyone from Texas root against Tom Landry and Roger Staubach. It's un-American to hate America's Team. They are a great franchise and do things the right way. Does that help you understand?
Pops really should've called his last timeout after that clock screw up. Shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place but you have to draw up a new play.
You can tell he tries hard to come off as abrasive and edgy. It's pretty embarrassing. I'm glad half-assing it in the regular season came back to bite him this year.
Mavs fans can be argued as great also. They help give their squad a nice HCA every year. DAL has also been highly successful for 15+ years. If you choose to "hate" one team and not the other, that's cool. It's a free country. Your inconsistent reasoning makes you sound like a closet Spurs fan, though.
We haven't played against them in a playoff series in 20 years. We've had only a few memorable regular season games against them in that span. There's no bad blood between the organizations. Quite the opposite ... the Rockets have huge amounts of respect for the Spurs organization. Morey has repeatedly praised their team. He's even gone so far as to say that if the Spurs are doing it, its the probably the right thing to do (in terms of team management). So, to me, the Spurs aren't a rival -- at least not in any meaningful sense. We beat them in 1995 to win our last championship and proximity-wise they are closest to us. That's enough for them to be a rival to you? Them being a "division rival", while technically correct, is irrelevant now that the regular season is over and the playoff seeding is set. The Spurs being fortunate to get Duncan ... well, yeah. And we were fortunate to get the number 1 pick two years in a row in the 80s. I don't begrudge any team this sort of "luck". That was nearly 20 years ago, and they've still been a perennial contender. That's what great organizations do ... they take some good fortunate, and then make the best of it.
This thread was opened to trash SA. Kind of a pointless thing to do, but I'd expect most responses to be sarcastic or baseless claims. However, I do agree that SA should trade the Spurs for an NFL franchise. The Spurs fans are the worst ever and don't know a ****lick about basketball.
