I'm a Pacquiao fan and a casual boxing fan at best, but I could recognize pretty quickly the defensive mastery of Mayweather. He's a smart boxer but it's gotta be frustrating for opponents who come to fight only to find someone looking to evade. The energy in the arena seemed to fade pretty quickly after the first half of the fight when it became clear that Manny just couldn't crack Floyd's defenses with any consistency, and Floyd had no interest in actually fighting. No one's gonna remember this fight except for the hype and buzz surrounding it. Makes me glad I went in with a group of people for the PPV.
Yeah you might be right, but Floyd's hero is Kenny Bayless <iframe src="https://vine.co/v/OWuBYl0gQED/embed/simple" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0"></iframe><script src="https://platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js"></script>
Mayweather is a great boxer and did exactly what I thought he would do. Which is exactly why I didn't buy the fight, instead I watched a great game 7 and a movie.
mayweather threw more punches than pacquiao and kept coming forward all night but he didn't want to "fight"? he's supposed to just stand there like an idiot and let pacquaio tee off on him? why is no one blaming pacquiao for being scared?
Agree with this. Change a few things and the sport could do a 180 and make it's way back to what it used to be. It would also be nice if the fighters had something more than their record to fight for, like say....a bigger pay day? How about the winner gets the bigger pay day? This fight Floyd got $180m and Manny got $120m. How about a $300m purse, the winner gets $180m and the loser gets $120m? Maybe that would give them more to fight for. In a perfect world (I'm not an avid fan, so some of this may not be possible, even in a perfect world, I don't know): -1 champ, and #2, #3, #4, etc. -you don't choose who/when you fight, but you have to make your way up to gain the luxury of fighting of fighting for the title -there's a set purse for each fight based on negotiations by the boxing federation, and the winner and loser each get x amount
Something just doesnt sit right with me in this fight. If you watched the early part of fight, maybe 3rd rd, Pac had him hurt against the ropes and giving shots and just backed off. Now why would a fighter who knows it may be his only chance the way Mayweather grabs, ducks, runs, whatever it takes to not get hit, why would he just back off and let him gather himself? Just doesnt make sense in the dirtiest sport there is.
lel if he didn't care, why do you? If last night's fight had gone the way of the Ali (May) v various opponents (Pac), you'd see a lot less complaining from everyone. But the fight wasn't even close to anything seen in this clip. http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/i...der-denied-anti-inflammatory-shot-locker-room He had documents to back up a shoulder injury. Floyd saying his arms and hands hurt before the match, in that same article, is lulzy because he has no proof. Your hatred of Manny is showing. Sorry that people are saying your idol Mayweather beat the system, instead of Manny. But it's true.
i don't hate manny at all. he's a great fighter. his delusional fanbase who whines like b****es because their idol just lost to a better fighter i don't particularly care that much for.
That interview with Michael Cole at the end with Pac was mean. Pac lost and all Chile could do was pile on.

It's fair game. Kellerman always interviews like that, no idea why there was so much outrage today cause he was asking very valid questions
I'm not a big fan of boxing, but did watch it last night. Wasn't very exciting. I feel like the boxers need to be at least intimidating. UFC guys are scary. These guys are not. Probably didn't help that Mayweather is such a small fighter. And then Pacquiao looked like midget. Tiny guy with short arms.
I didn't watch the fight, but I can probably guess what happened. Mayweather stayed away from Manny all night long using his reach advantage to score points giving him the win via decision. I don't know why anyone would have paid the ridiculous PPV rate to watch boxing's funeral.
Getting put to sleep against JMM changed Manny forever. I can't believe people expected Floyd to just stand there and trade blows... that's not boxing.
lol let them hate, they tried everything to distract mayweather on this biggest day of his life. michelle beadle i contend is a bigot, and as for pacquaio( he was basically the great white hope) because they dont want floyd near marcianos record check out the racist comments coming from whites and filipnos on twitter, i thought mayweather fans were supposed to be thugs... Mayweather knows boxing has a racist history, black fighters getting booed going back to jack johnson. and last but not least i realize why nba players hate stephen curry, fool was going for pacquaio. Does Curry not know when they call floyd the n-word they are talking about him too
