The epic owning of tinman in this thread by a variety of posters is great to see.

I'm glad there is finally starting to be more vocal criticism of his divisive, spam oriented posting style that ruins the (GARM) Rockets experience for many newer fans and even some older ones.

The East was stronger with one team winning 50 games? There was not one legitimate title contender in the East that year. That year was possibly the worst the East has been in the last 35 years.

Tinman..you're a 99er so odds are you're a fully-grown adult that has an odd obsession with T-Mac. I was born in '92 and became a Rockets fan around 2003 or 04. T-Mac was my first truly favorite Rockets player and overall favorite player to watch in the NBA due to his talent and ability. He never led us past the first round..so what?? It's over. I remember him for the good memories like 13 in 33 and at least the HOPE that we could advance in the playoffs.

Yes, Harden's legacy will mostly likely trump T-Mac's legacy by a mile. Stop sh***ing on T-Mac though and start acting like you're on a Rockets fan forum and not a 40 year old troll who still lives in his mom's basement.

One bad moment makes certain people forget all the good that came with Mcgrady.

No we didn't win a playoff game with Mcgrady, but that wasn't because of him not trying.

Man if somehow we could have kept franchise and cat. Craay.

    Franchise
    Cat
    MerGady
    Scrub
    Yao

Crayy. Even if we had scrub bench (which we did anyway).

Well, you're outright lying b/c he was on the Spurs 2013 team. So, in addition to being a faux Rockets fan, you're untruthful. Smart people know that you can't base everything about a player on team results. And you keep, keep mistakenly assume that those of us who happen to be McGrady fans are somehow non-Rockets fans, when in actuality it's the opposite. We are the true diehard fans who will forgive something like McGrady not leading us to the playoffs and VERNON MAXWELL QUITTING ON US because that's what you do. You forgive and forget. Heck, I've forgiven Scottie Pippen. Hate for something silly is just a waste.

The good thing, though, is that posters like this lose most of their credibility- Tinman has gone from someone most of us respected due to his 1990s fandom to someone who is just now ridiculed. And it's not just for the McGrady hate- it's that he can't even muster up a mature response for his hatred. It's these stupid 1-sentence phrases or less that make you feel like you're debating a middle school student. Very sad to see the demise of certain posters.

I think the most dangerous thing is he declared him 'a 99er CF cheap version messiah of the interwebz' who runs around converting and trying to bore others to death with his posts. Sort of boring version of witch hunt

That does not spell positivity for his private life. If at all

It's normal for fans on a Rockets site to support their players, good or bad. It's also normal for some of us to have not so fond memories of certain players, a la Scottie Pippen.

But you're talking about a player who, for several years, was clearly one of the 2 best players on our team. When we lost those series against Dallas and Utah, we were clearly at a team disadvantage. Watching those games, no one could fault McGrady- I mean, come on, especially the Dallas series. He was spectacular offensively and did an excellent job on Dirk.

The fact that they took a clearly better team to 7 games, including winning the first 2 on the road, was a triumph at the time- especially b/c, in game 7, I had never seen a team have a more clear distinction between 2 players and the rest of the team- Yao and T-Mac were great, the rest of the team was absolutely, utterly horrible. Terrible. Don't remember much about the Utah series, but with Boozer, Williams, Kirilenko, and Okur, you had 4 legitimately great players- and 2 stars in the first 2 mentioned- so it was certainly not a shock that we lost. The end of McGrady's tenure with the Rockets sucked- JUST LIKE MAXWELL. So, you do what normal people do- you appreciate the good, forgive them for the bad, and move on. Some people just have to be a certain way. Sad.

I think you knew Tmac was at fault not for his performance in the playoffs but for his mouth.

He was just not a good PR guy. 'It is on me' and giving 'questionable interviews' not saying the right things.... PR nightmare

I think that is why he is a very easy target for haters

He was nearly a great player yeah but he was not a vocal leader.

I think the Rockets needed a vocal leader that had better talents than Shane and Hayes at that time.

Those guys were leaders but had limited talent on offense. Yao was an alien.

If by that you mean a top 5 Rockets player and one of the greatest NBA players of all time, then yes.

I'm embarrassed to be associated with Tinman through Rocket fandom.

Like him or not for his time with the Rockets, but Tracy McGrady is a ****ing humanitarian. He has saved people's lives.

To treat McGrady with the vitriol that Tinman has shown him is downright pathetic.

You truly are a giant piece of ****.

No. Derrick Chievous and Dirk Minniefield were terrible, though.

Another Tmac fan tactic to deflect his failure as a rocket to lead the team anywhere in the playoffs.

Nobody ever criticized his humanitarian stuff. you could pretend i do, all you want. it's your imagination.

I'm glad he's help saving lives.

He also saved Rocket fans lots of money from being spent in later rounds of the playoffs.

It's the tmac fans who bumped this thread, and it's my job to thump them with the truth

you live in the world where James Harden in 17 rockets playoff games than Tracy McGrady did in his entire playoff career for any team.

That includes the Rockets, Raptors, Magic, Hawks, Pistons and the Guandong China.

You live in a world where Tmac fans are so jealous of Harden that they bumped this thread.

    they bump , i'll thump

the rockets got over the hump

    tmac compared to harden

    is a chump

    he's never won an MVP
he's never won an NBA Title
he's never passed the first round of playoffs

Maybe you're list of greatest players suck

I'll name you these players who played in the Tmac era,

LeBron, Kobe, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett

They all won MVPs, they all won titles

You say you don't care , yet you obviously do because you keep replying

but stop lying to yourself, you can lie to me all you want, I don't care and never will care

but you are lying to yourself thinking he's one of the greatest, when he's done nothing compared to those I just named

Hell, Yao Ming has done more than him

    I don't hate Tmac
I just hate the lies spread about him to prop up his worth.

I hate that this thread was bumped because he has NOTHING TO DO with this team or PLAYOFF SUCCESS

what on god's earth is there to debate???

JAMES HARDEN HAS LED THE ROCKETS TO PLAYOFF SUCCESS
TRACY MCGRADY NEVER AND WILL NEVER EVER TIL THE END OF TIME LEAD THE ROCKETS TO PLAYOFF SUCCESS

    PERIOD.

I love James Harden and I loved Tracy McGrady...idk why love for either has to be mutually exclusive in your eyes.
