Man it was crazy how good Inside the NBA was tonight with Nate there in place of Barkley. Barkley should go to the fights more often.

Another good thing with the Clippers winning is the late start times in away games. I usually get off work at 9 so I'll be able to watch all of them.

I'm surprised the Clippers managed to win this series. Ginobili, Parker and Danny Green were crap for the Spurs all series long, and Leonard was inconsistent. San Antonio may have finally gotten so old and banged up that no amount of creative coaching and smart minutes mgmt can overcome it. Last year's Spurs team would have obliterated this Clipper team with ease.

And no, Kawhi Leonard does not deserve a max player, and never will be. He's probably the best role player in the league, but no more. He is a fringe top-30 player. You can't build a franchise around him. He is not reliable in the clutch. He can't carry a team when everyone else is struggling. If the Spurs land Aldridge than LMA will automatically be the best player on their team next season.

Anyway, the Rockets should be able to knock out the Clippers in 5 games, 6 at the most. (Unless McHale goes total stupid.) CP3 is banged up (hamstring injuries tend to linger for awhile) and the rest of their team is mediocre-to-decent at best. They have no depth.

Spurs go down...as expected. They are not as special as people say...nor is Atlanta's motion offense. Motion offenses are not a silver bullet. They have flaws. And Spurs losing first round and ATL struggling just simply gives credence to what I try to tell this board. I grew up playing Bobby Knight motion in Illinois HS basketball. I love it, but I also know its flaws. The media and fans love to glamourize it...that's fine. I will not criticize it when it wins. But when it doesn't win, we must also critique it.

    That said

Clips have an injured PG for going 7 games.

Rest vs Rust strategy is again proven as myth.

No system is infallible. No team unbeatable. I don't know much about Xs and Os, so I am curious which other type of offense you think would have been better for the Spurs, given their players.

What an awful day for Michelle Beadle. Spurs lost and she was shut out of the Mayweather/Pac fight.

Blake Griffin has elevated his game to superstar status in this series. What a damn beast. Monster series from Blake.

    He put up 24/13/7/2/2. Ridiculous.

Tell me how the Clippers found ways to beat the Spurs offense. Also, tell me where your opinion was, last year?

The way I see it, the Spurs beat themselves. Green was awful - if the 3 isn't falling, he's probably the worst player in their rotation. Leonard was great at the start of the series, but he just fell off for some reason. And not sure if it was injury or what, but Parker didn't play great all series.

Duncan showed he is still one of the best PFs at 39. I thought he was declining, but I think it can be argued that he's top 3 right now. Maybe even 2nd best.

Don't act as though the Clippers were some pushover team that exploited the Spurs offense for being a bad one. Next to the Spurs, the Clippers were the hottest team in the league, heading into the playoffs. CP3 had to input cheat codes this game to beat the Spurs.

I'm pretty sure this could have been a popular opinion about Harden, after OKC's loss to the Heat in the Finals.

How did that Harden guy turn out?

You think Bobby Knight's motion offense is what the Spurs run? Seriously?

I grew up in Indy and watched Knight's IU teams during his heyday year after year. I even watched his weekly TV shows. What IU did was nothing like what Pop and the Spurs do now.

Also, what would you point out as the flaws of the motion offense? "Critique" it for us. This should be a good read.

What a great game. The Spurs played as well as they could, but the clips played better, especially Matt Barnes. A tremendous effort by him when it counted the most.

Great call by all the so-called "experts"

Don't mind heyp's irrational hatred of the Spurs. He also defended the NBA fining the Spurs for resting their starters against Miami a few years back, spouting nonsense of how evil it is for a team to decide how to run themselves.
