I loved Russel Wilson for the Texans that draft, but the same narrative was out there about timing being wrong for the Texans to go QB.

    I just don't buy it.

If you believe in the QB available, you grab him. I don't know if they like Bryce Petty, and I don't blame them if they don't, but that is the reason to pass on him. Pass on him because you don't like him, not because you "have to find out" about Mallet and Savage.

No on Bryce Petty. Don't see anything that would translate to being a successful NFL QB. If we are going to throw away a valuable draft pick on a QB in this weak QB class I'd rather waste it on Hundley. I would rather take a long shot on Shane Carden in later rounds... maybe 5th or later. Probably no better than Tom Savage, to be honest... but also to be honest, don't see much in Tom Savage to not take a gamble in later rounds.

I wouldn't be unhappy with getting a RB in the second, but I'd rather get Tevin Coleman who I think will be an impact RB in the NFL. I'd probably go after Jay Ajayi who looks like a better pass catcher than Abdullah.

I'm so bummed about Dorsett and Perriman both being gone. I really like Dorsett and was hoping for him in round 2. :(

The only thing about Jay is his injury that was red flagged by a couple of teams

I'm looking for LB in the second. Then impact offensive player in the 3rd.

I'm not sure Kendricks can play OLB ina 3-4, but other than that I don't dislike your thought process. :)

Agreed. If we wanted a guy who could play ILB or OLB we should go for McKinney.

Excited to see if we keep the aggressiveness in early 2nd round that we showed by going after the Patriots pick, there is someone available that we really like that is for sure.

Best players available by position IMO:

    WR:
    Jaelen Strong
    DGB

    OL:
    La'el Collins
    Jake Fisher
    T.J. Clemmings

    LB:
    Randy Gregory
    Benardrick McKinney
    Denzel Perryman

    RB:
    Tevin Coleman
    Jay Ajayi

One guy to look at for is Mario Edwards Jr. There was a little smoke that he was a sleeper for the Texans at #16 but would obviously be way better value at #51. Would play DE opposite JJ.

Agree with you on McKinney. Though I still think inside LB is more of a need, especially since Cushing is so injury prone (and even that's assuming he recovers from the last one).

I don't think Smith will be there in Round 3, but if so, I would much rather have him than Funchess (even if thinking Funchess as a TE). Even with the two FA signings we need a young fast receiver. If Smith is gone, I like Tre McBride. Like his size and speed.

Is it wrong that I just want our team to have a guy named Bernardrick on it?

Thinking they trade up in the 2nd. Feel like there's still a target up top they really want. I'd like a DT/DE or OLB/ILB in the 2nd, but wouldn't fault them at getting an impact WR/RB. I'd keep building the Defensive if it was me.
