It's gonna take some work yet to get the crowd back, but you can feel the surge starting. MMP is the loudest park in baseball when our fans get going.
Duduno starting kind of makes me nervous. A couple of the other match ups make me nervous too. **** it...WWWW.
Its not "as" loud, but it can still be plenty loud and intimidating with the roof open. MMP, with its little foul territory and close confines, makes the fans feel like they're right on top of the field. Combine that with a hungry crowd with football mentality in their genes, and you can get a combined NBA playoff/Football game atmosphere at a ballpark. The Cardinals were double-taking every 5 minutes in 2004 and 2005.... "how can they be "this" crazy...."). Basically one of the few home parks that does contribute to the mythical home-field advantage of baseball.
Oh, I fully agree that our fans can be insane with an open or closed roof. I was just still marveling at the fact that the league could dictate whether or not we closed our roof.
I'm not sure why a part couldn't just "stop working" when they went to open it to appease the league.
I've always thought the same. If Drayton had any balls as a true Texan, he would've told Bud "**** off, roof's broke" and then gone out and started pulling fuses. Bud probably would have moved the games to Milwaukee, though.
Fortunate to get out of that one with only two runs, gonna have to score some runs tonight fellas to counter Feldmans stuff.
He's had bad luck. back to back to back infield hits. 1st guy rolled one where the shift wasn't 2nd hit one to the SS but out ran the throw (1st runner already advanced to 2nd on passed ball) 3rd guy hit to Marwin and he couldn't get to it to turn an easy double play.
Why is Robbie still getting playing time? No seriously, I have no idea why this kid is on the major league roster.
