Yup, almost all of the slaves the Democrats lost when they were freed by emancipation have been re-captured using political means.

The Democratic party of today and the Republican party shifted ideologies sometime between the Civil War and the Great Depression.

You can see this ideological shift in voting demographics. Your Southern Conservative White Christian voted Democrat pre Great Depression, and now predominately vote Republican.

So this seems to be a blame game, and we're looking to place blame on a party, this is where it lies....both 400 and 50 seem to be brought on by the same political party.

I'm just correcting an initial assertion by Commadore. That is all.

Nope, Ideology is more important than a label.

Democrat Party pre-Great Depression=modern conservative Republicans.

    So...

Dems and their ideology supported slavery at their inception...your 400 years

Then, Dems and their ideologies have had a political monopoly in Baltimore since the 60's. Your 40-50 years.

Personally, I don't give a crap about politics and the blame game, but your assertion makes no sense to me.

My dad just retired from being a state trooper for 27 years.

    He is extremely intelligent.

and he will be receiving a ridiculous pension for the rest of his life, while working on a second pension from the railroad police force.

    You are an idiot.

Again, I don't know if you are being obtuse or not, but it's simple. The Democrats who advocated slavery during the civil war and the democratic party that exists today and also the past 40-50 years are entirely different parties.

The entire point Commodore and right wingers such as Allen West want to argue is that policy such as affirmative action, welfare etc are the reasons for the predicament of the Black race in America. They are arguing that Democrats and their 'socialism' throws money at these Black communities making them complacent in making their lives better. The 400 years of unequal educational opportunities? Nah... IT'S DA SOCIALSM AND WELLFARE that is keeping the Black man down, not this silly slavery thing or Jim Crow guy.

Some merit to what he said. He said it rather bluntly. Law enforcement at least at the local level is rather low bar. Associates degree at a community college and you have the power to use lethal force.

Like I said... You're extremely active in threads like this (and you're not alone). You have 90 post in a little over 20 pages in this thread. And besides your post of violence and lethal force, you even insinuated that Black folks are trying to get you to pay restitution... Lol. And no, I don't go run crying to Clutch like a chump and besides ---> this is the D&D.

As far as my "well documented" history of hatred for white folks... Funny you say that when in this thread I practically insulted the late great MLK by saying the civil rights movement accomplished nothing and I called Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson sale outs. I even said that those street gangs in Baltimore should be helping stop the riots because they've been part of the problem themselves. I have a long "shyt list" and unlike yourself I'm a equal opportunist ;) Nice try though...

Agree about the media... But unfortunately it's just a small percentage of the population (like yourself) that can see this.

What do you mean almost

It actually does make sense to anybody who has a barely literate perception of the civil rights era and subsequent developments in politics.
The "slavery" ideology and its successors have a "new" home, in terms of political party, and has since about the 60's. This isn't controversial or disputed.

If the assertion makes no sense, it's really an indictment of your own lack of awareness.

Well it's just upwards of 90% or so. Still pretty impressive from an evil standpoint that the party of slavery can so easily go from owning the bodies of African Americans to owning the hearts and minds of African Americans once owning their bodies was outlawed.

Only a a right winger would believe that welfare and affirmative action is akin to slavery.

Regardless of the democratic party's shift in beliefs, it is still the democratic party behind it. It's not hard to undertand that its not either one thing or another that has contributed to the situation as you asserted in your "400 or 50 years" question. It's a combination of situations and others that I'm sure we have not touched on.

What I'm trying to get you to see is whether its the Slavery, or the Jim Crow Laws, or the socialism, or the monopoly of local government, no matter how the party ideas have changed, the democratic party is still behind this. In no way am I being obtuse.

Sounds like some of the posters in this thread would struggle mightily with the concept of "bad" being slang for "good".

He also said cops. Cops as in everyone.

There is no merit to it then.

Your level of education doesn't determine how intelligent you are.

That's a myth. I know plenty of people who got their degrees and are ding bats.

Are you aware of what "liberalism" referred to in the 18th century?

BECAUSE THEY ARE ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PARTIES AND ARE ONLY COMMON IN NAME.

Let's put it this way. Obama would have been a Republican in 1900 and Michelle Bachman would have been a Democrat. So it ISN'T THE SAME PARTY.

At the end of the day, you still have to put forth an argument that suggests that somehow welfare, 'socialism' etc are as damaging to the Black culture as 400 years of slavery and segregation. Good ****ing luck.
