This is the dumbest post in the history of ClutchFans. Perhaps the entire internet. Congratulations.

5,000+ at the moment. Hopefully, it's because we just advanced and this is the best source for news about the Rockets.

Nice overreaction by the Rockets. I thought we had thicker skin down here in Texas, but apparently we're populated with just as many PC p-ssies as the rest of the nation.

By the way, the Rockets technically "fired" Chad because he's their employee. However, the oversight of NBA social media accounts and personnel is very strict and goes far beyond just the team. While I can't say with 100% certainty yet that there was an edict from the top, I don't think this is something where the Rockets and Les Alexander unilaterally made a decision. They may well have been forced into this.

Sounds like BS. If that's the case you give him another job somewhere else in the organization. He was flat out let go from the Rox.

Shouldn't he get a raise for getting this kind of attention? I thought that was the whole point of Twitter...

What an overreaction to a harmless tweet.

If it were just a no-name fan it would be okay. But we're talking about an Official Rockets twitter account here. Sometimes being politically correct is part of the job in social media and if you need to be fair/empathetic.

Best of luck to the guy.

I think that's a bad call, UNLESS there is a written rule as part of his job description that says he cannot post derogatory remarks or posts that could be construed to be in bad taste about other franchises. If he violated part of his employment agreement (no matter how petty), he deserves to get fired.

That said, he'd still have a job if I was his boss.

It was definitely in poor taste but not worth to get fired over.

I got a lot of flax yesterday for saying that tweet was a bit much and was accused of siding with Dallas, among an interesting rep that cursed me out. But if Dallas did something similar if they had won this series, I'm sure most of the people here would be crying foul all day long.

Anyway, I feel for that guy who got fired. The Rocket's twitter page was one of the best, funniest and most creative in the NBA. Its a shame that a moment of wrong judgement can lead to being fired but that's the world we live in today.

The Rockets' have an image they need to maintain.

I must have missed that boat where twitter actually mattered in life. Guess it does.

    This is some BS.

I guarantee the temporary replacement or new guy is going to be so bad at twitter/instagram/snapchat. This guy had his own unique feel.

His name is Chad Shanks, send him your support.
