Last thing we would want to do is sent our military overseas without training.

I'm sure that the Johnny Jackasses of the Texas National Guard will keep us all safe when the SpecOps guys roll in.

    What a bunch of idiocy.

It's embarrassing to have a governor beholden to right wing fanatics.

So we are reduced to this. The majority party in power in Austin is making a joke out of the State of Texas, and it ticks me off. I'm proud being a Texan, but I am not proud of what the Republican Party is doing to the state I love.

They should call George W. back into service to buzz the SEALs in his Texas ANG jet if they try any funny business

Wow, it is bad enough that Texas republicans don't support our U.S. troops, but sending out the Texas military after them? Wow!

Why are the republicans OBSESSED with pandering to the dumbest faction of their party? It's unreal.

Given their current policies, it's the only way they can get elected these days.

Thank god I'm not on the Joint Chiefs, because I see this as the equivalent of the governor getting drunk and playing recklessly with a hand grenade. If I were on the Joint Chiefs, my reaction would be this is a trend of an increasing threat against federal authority and it might be time for "explosive ordinance disposal" where rather than defusing a bomb, you set it off under controlled conditions where collateral damage can be minimized.

If the governor's actions result in the Texas National Guard starting a firefight with the US Army, I can't think of anything that would discredit right wing nuttiness more thoroughly.

As a member of the Joint Chiefs, I'd be tempted to see if I could push the Governor of Texas into "detonating" so to speak, in order to prune the garden of the weeds that are right wing anti federal agressive defiance, before it grows large enough to be a real threat.
