"I think we should all be rioting and looting honestly"?

I've read a ton of idiotic comments on here over the years, but this tops them all.

I dunno. I really don't. I'd imagine that there are places of business that if not owned by, then at least they hire employees from the area they are located.

All this crap just makes me so incredibly sad. Something does have to give, but I just don't think that violence is the way to go about it. When's the last time that violent disobedience actually made the situation better in America? Revolutionary War? It didn't work when the Confederacy tried it, didn't work in the 60's (Vietnam or civil rights), didn't work when the Battle of Seattle anti-globalization guys tried it.

I'm more from the Jesus/MLK/Gandhi school.

I agree, the rioters should definitely be armed with live ammo. Never bring a rock to a gunfight, amirite?

I say again to the fool who is defending looting: if you want a revolution then have balls and attack the armed police not unarmed people and their property. Cowards.

The truth is this isn't about a revolution no matter how many times people like you say it is. This is about thugs taking advantage of unrest caused by someone else's pain to steal stuff.

It would make it easier to justify force if they were armed. Cowardly animals don't want a real conflict with police they just want to destroy stuff and steal stuff.

There's nothing wrong with MLK and Gandhi, but, as MLK said: " must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the negro poor has worsened over the last twelve or fifteen years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity."

There was a lot of armed and violent action during the Civil Rights movement. MLK often hired armed black militias to protect his peaceful marchers. And the presence of violent and revolutionary anger during that time really helped motivate the establishment to listen to King.

Same thing with Gandhi. If you look at the history, Gandhi may have been non-violent, but there was a lot of militant and violent action part of the Indian Independence movement.

They are attacking the armed police, and they are being criticized for that too.

Yep if they all had guns this would all be over in a day and have a much more exciting ending.

Shameful. Many people are simply looking for a reason to rob and act violently. Shameful. These violent actions don't help their cause at all.

What did the Watts riots accomplish? What did the Rodney King riots do? Hell, you can look up USA riots in wikipedia and there's a several hundred of them listed. What good did they actually do?

There's gotta be a better way, is all I'm saying.

Depends on their goal, if they were wanting to demonstrate that they aren't deserving of better treatment by police......well they are doing a pretty good job.

Well, I have it on good authority that the band Sublime finally got their own P.A. and at least one guitar on top of all of the alcohol they can't afford......I mean that's accomplishing something right?
