One loss and some people start questioning players' hearts. Hey, here is to you, chit happens. Just ask the Spurs who lost home court by losing to the Clippers at home yesterday. Smh...
This a legitimate concern of Harden to me. He often plays lackadaisical with no urgency. The first play of last nites game he threw a lazy behind the back pass that luckily went out of bounds off Dallas. Harden needs a killer instinct. That play where Aminu screamed in Harden's face off a turnover should've motivated him to go off for another 40
This. There were two times last night. One with Dwight and one with Josh where Harden was the sole reason they didn't get techs, and one of those techs would have tossed Josh out of the game. The other guys on this team obviously respect his voice, and I've seen him put his hands on Dwights chest more than a few times and tell him what he needs to hear. Yes, Harden still drifts on defense from time to time. On offense though, you are mistaking patience for not caring which is pretty stupid. The guy cares, and is trying his hardest to beat the other teams defense with his mind not just raw aggression. He's just not the type of player like Kobe to go one on five and try to shoot jump shots over 4 players while his teammates are wide open.
If getting angry could win you something, everybody would be easily angry. Sports need cold-blooded assassins, the ones like Pop and his pupils. James Harden is a humane assassin. Let's appreciate that he's on the team.
nevermind, I stand corrected. I for some reason thought it was Dirk and Harris. yes, as another poster mentioned, it was Dirk, Barea, Chandler and of course the coach. Ok, well I suppose that makes sense for them not "laying down". Whatever....Rockets still let a golden opportunity go and game 5 is a must win from a momentum standpoint.
Like I said earlier this thread isn't negative unless you want it to be. Apparently you do because you have been nothing but negative. Myself on the other hand gave a unemotional critique of a possible limitation for our team. Harden clearly is not always engaged. You think that's not a concern. I do.
Ok that maybe true. It maybe also true that management asked him to be more vocal and now they are selling it to us. Both can be true. However his on the court action is much more concerning. Deferring at critical moments. Lack of defensive concentration. Poor body language. Should be all real concerns for you. With that being said I don't want to castigate him too much. For example when Smooth was bickering with Jefferson he got him to hold his composure. This is great he just needs to address the other areas of concern that I've highlighted.
This thread was A+ Hilarious. Especially reading the exchange by DavidRocket and other CF Members. DavidRocket started with one issue he had with the Rockets to being corrected, then jumped to the next and the next to be corrected again and again. It definitely showed how much of a noob DavidRocket is of playoff basketball and maybe even basketball in general?
**** happens Watch Harden come out in game 5 drop 30+ and the Rockets blow the Mavs out All will be good at that point.
I heard if you lose a playoff game, it's personality issues. This means every game someone needs a psychologist because someone loses every game. I also heard it doesn't really matter if you sweep or win in 7 to advance.
So you would rather be cute than actually discuss the issues ? Why do so many of you keep talking about this one game. I nvr mentioned this game. Btw if he does go ham in the next game good but my concerns will still be there. Harden is a very relaxed person and I think that mentality has limitations in any competitive industry.
Because he has, on the whole, been decent to solid defensively. Because he has, on the whole, NOT been deferential and has been great at reading when it's time to take over. Because he has, on the whole, been the obvious and undisputed leader of this team all season. That's why it seems like you're reacting to one game that anyone who's watched all 82 could recognize as an outlier in many, many ways. I highly doubt this thread exists if we sweep last night.
Leave your boyfriend out of this. EVERY SINGLE YEAR HIS GAME HAS IMPROVED. EVERY SINGLE TIME HE HAS FAILED, HE HAS COMEBACK STRONGER. Yeah......... amazing.
I wish people would stop acting like there's some secret personality formula to success in basketball. it's not how real life works, and it definitely isn't how basketball works people work differently. Some people can hype themselves up and be angry with themselves and use it a motivation to play better basketball, some people are more effective when they are more emotionally composed. You can't just make a blanket statement like Harden's non aggressive demeanor is detrimental to his ability to play basketball, you have absolutely no way to know. If anything I feel like he plays much worse when he's upset at something, because some people tend to not play up to their ability when they let emotions get in their way. That's why players always try to get under eachother's skin, because they know that some players stops using their brain when they are driven by emotion. Harden has played his best basketball when he is patient on offense and not go all hero ball iso like Kobe. he was setting his team mate up with open shots all night because he was having issues with Aminu guarding him. that is absolutely the right thing to do. Sometimes being a hard head isn't always a good thing.
