Give him a few minutes when their guards are getting hot. Yes, we will be 4 on 5, but he can slow them down too. No harm in trying him in Game 4.
I like the future for NJ but based on what I've seen from him he makes too many careless TOs to justify using him at this point. I'd rather stick with two vets that have performed well up until this point.
We should start Nick Johnson and Clint Capela and get them some playoffs experience. Then when we are down 21 in the 4th...put in Howard, Brewer, Smith, Harden, and Ariza and beat the Warrior's 4th quarter comeback
Nick should get spot minutes on defense, Harden should handle the ball exclusively on those occasions.
I would put Nick Johnson in next game if Barea and their point guards are beating our old geezers again. lolol I mean, why not? Might as while use the some of next game to "test" Johnson and see if he can be used in the playoffs because we are going to face some elite point guards in the next round in Parker or Paul (knock on wood) and having an option of going to Johnson would be nice.
He is definitely not ready to be a NBA point guard, making NBA point guard plays but he can defend NBA point guards very well. I remember him playing stellar defense against John Wall recently. We might need that in future rounds. Just let Harden take over PG duties when NJ is on the floor.
give it up. these games are too important to give inexperienced rookies ballhandling responsibilities.
He will get spot opportunities in the next series. Terry and Prigioni got destroyed by Parker in the regular season, and it will only be worse in the playoffs. Give him 10 minutes, only when Harden is in, and only guarding Parker. Our closing lineup vs the Spurs is going to be Brewer, Harden, Ariza, Smith, and Howard anyway....it's just a matter of getting to the 4th within striking distance.
Until his offense is no ATROCIOUS . . . he will be on the bench And He Should .. . that blown layup was crazy Rocket River
Young guy with no experience playing in the playoffs, on another team's home court. I wouldn't sweat a blown layup. It's not like he went 0/5 on easy layups or something.
They didn't even run picks or anything Barea literally just ran up and then sprinted past Terry all game lol. Need some fresh quick legs out there, especially if Terry isn't knocking down his shots.
I wanted NJ in last night because I felt like JJ was getting too much energy going on the Mavs. I don't think he should be getting minutes unless we're in a situation like last night. Fortunately I don't think we'll be in that situation again as the crowd will feed energy into these guys for a nice close out.
I just don't feel Johnson is ready for prime time unfortunately. I don't think he's good enough defensively to justify being out there because he is next to a 0 on offense. It would be like going 4 on 5 with him out there on offense. He can't hit the outside shot and perimeter players on this team who can't hit the outside shot are next to useless. Pretty much like Ariza was last night. This is also why Kpap can't get on the floor because he can't shoot worth a damn either. Those two really need to work on their shot if they expect to make it on this team.
If they will allow him to 'get up under his skin' basically allow him to manhandle him . .push and shove on him like Aminu does Harden. .. . . Rocket River
