awesome win!!! I'm loving what Marisnick and Lowrie bring to this team...Altuve doing his thing and Gattis starting to come around (hey Carter had a hit too!). Rasmus also raised his BA to .260. This team is starting to look scary good. Now if Springer can get it going and the pitching holds up, watch out!

Love the aggressiveness on the bases!!!!

Altuve has a 29 gm hit streak against the A's!!

Let's go get at least 2 of 3 against SD.

Yes. When great pitchers pitch all-time great games, teams usually struggle to score runs. The goddam '27 Yankees wouldn't have hit either of those guys on those days.

Mike Scott v. the Mets in '86 comes to mind, since we were talking about that recently.

It really is sweet. I watched the Astros like typical Houston bandwagoner in the early 00s, but never followed closely (minors, trades, etc.). Once Luhnow was hired, I decided to follow more closely and it is nice seeing the team finally turn completely around (started last season).

Right hand velocity pitchers with great sliders against a heavy right hand lineup.

Just saying... those were the two best pitched games against the Astros in their franchise history... and they both happened in the same year (in addition to Sterling freaking Hitchcock).

Usually, when that lineup went into a funk... they all went into a funk together... and that was true up till Berkman started becoming an everyday player.

Also points to why you better have a couple of stud starters when it's playoff time....which we just might have

And hell, if I watch our 3 hole hitter swing and miss at a pitch way out of the strike zone in the 17th inning of game six to get knocked out this year....I'll take it

You can see why the 98 team (along with any of those late 90's teams) hold a somewhat jaded place in my memory... haunted by performances of Smoltz, Maddux, Brown, Kerry Wood, Sterling Hitchcock, Kevin Millwood, x player making his MLB debut...

Not to mention Dierker using or warming up Elarton every single game...

Berkman and Roy O helped exercise several demons.

He will, he'll get one or two starts more on this call up at best. Peacock will come off the 15 day DL soon and Obie should start his rehab assignment soon.

I'd rather keep giving Wojo starts than Peacock

When Obie is ready then that's cool, but I don't need to see more peacock

They're both about the same age... both will continue to get chances, but Wojo has more options.

Just playing devil's advocate, but that's exactly what a whole lot of people said in the past about Keuchel, McHugh, Wandy, Lima, etc....
