He's a company man. Refs almost always make the absolutely right call comes out of his mouth so often. Other than that, he's not bad.

I think he's always like that toward the underdog. If he had his way, he would probavly love to see all series goes the distance.

My dad is old school and believes for the most part that refs are not biased and calls most games equally....but even he was upset Hubie was saying done of the things he said. After nearly every play, he'd say, "Wait...listen to Hubie"

We'll see if we get to the WCF, cause that is when we get ESPN exclusively and will then be the underdog against the Warriors. We might find out if he roots for us then. I also remember loving Hubie in our 2010-2013 era when we were the underdog.

Meh. It doesn't really bother me cause Hubie I think just wants to see a long series and gets caught up in the game. The thing you have to respect is at his age of 112, the guy still has a huge passion for the game. He's obviously rooting for the underdog but I don't hear him b****ing about the refs or anything like that. It's mostly about what they have to do from a basketball perspective.

That being said I really wish I could have watched the Root broadcast.

Heck, my wife was begging for CLYDE. Even imitated him and still wished it were he instead of Hubes.

Some of Hube's 'points' were as absurd as some of Cubes'. Sorry, that'snot homerism that's Hubie.

BTW - - HB was a great, great coach. For about a season thenhis players just. could. not. listen. to. him. anymore.

I'm not saying he's a terrible commentator, but this isn't true. Listen for it next time, and you'll find it.

It's usually understated, but it's there all the time.

"Oh, come on. Dirk does the same thing on the other end of the floor but they call that for Howard? You can't do that."

He's going to slobber over Gasol/Zbo, Splash Bros, the Spurs beautiful bball or the Paul/Griffin combo.

I can't think of any way Hubie roots for the Rockets over a non-Rockets team after the game 3 lovefest.

Now...what you have here is a Hubie Brown is rooting for Dallas thread. And you say to yourself "Well, why does that matter?" Well, here's why. When the commentator in this situation seems to lean in one direction, and that's actively rooting, that can really cause problems. So, what do you do? You make a thread about it and get some confirmation among your fellow fans. You have to go to your strengths and limit the comments where you compliment Houston. Now, if this was a situation where Houston was the underdog, you might want to root for Houston in your commentary. But you don't, so you go to your strengths which is pointing out fouls in a manner in which they help Dallas and hurt Houston. There ya go. Beautiful commentary. Beautiful thread.

Someone pointed out that he just says what it would take for the losing team to come back into the game, which I can give him a pass on. But last night night he wasn't that way when the Rockets were down. He was trying to figure out how the Mavs could keep the lead & steal a game.

I would just mute the game, but I love hearing the Mavs fans get silenced by our squad.

I'm aware. It's just not good commentating. It's better if they lean into the sweep so they don't look like idiots.

facts are facts. Rockets shot were met with grunts and 'oh' while Dallas shots were marvelous. Hubie has too many favorite players on the mavs as he mentioned himself to warrant any respect in this age at his career/

If it was a once in awhile thing I would've chalked it up as him wanting a great game.

But he has commentated soo many of our national TV games that I just can't help but feel he doesn't like the Rockets.

Heck look on the reddit gamethread from last night's game, tons of non-Rockets fans noticed
