I would like to play the Clippers. Dwight is playing supernaturally, and I want to see him crush Deandre on the boards and make Blake shy away from the rim and have to settle for that jump shot he's trying to develop. Not sure which team flops more, but if we get beat the limp ones here, we can deal with that in the next round.
Spurs. I think this is the year we exorcise our teams against the other Texas teams, and I think the Spurs are easier to shut down than the Clippers- although with the way Smith has been playing lately, we might be able to stop Blake Griffin. I also think Howard will have an easier time against San Antonio than he would against Deandre Jordan. Best case scenario is the Spurs wear their old bodies out in a 7 game series against the Clippers.
this is a tough one seriously... on one hand, you have the spurs, the defending champs and best executing team in the league, but their weakness is athleticism, which the rockets have plenty of. the clippers dont have any depth, but i think deandre can do a solid job against howard, and blake would eat jones and smith for breakfast, not to mention we have no one to guard cp3 with bev out. also harden seems to struggle guarding guys like reddick that run behind screens all game. the clippers have had our number, yet we usually play well against the spurs, so... idk, either one is a big challenge
Tough one, but I will take the Spurs. Despite their last two games against us, we are a bad match up for them. I think we can beat them in seven games. AND if we do, I am predicting that we take out GS in seven and play Cleveland in the finals. And if we get that far, we win it all.
clippers have 2 guys who can score enough points to take over a game (cp3/blake) and they have no bench. the spurs have about 7 guys that can go off on you, and a bench, and experience... i'd rather the clippers because of those 2 reasons, but the spurs will beat the clippers because of those 2 reasons lol.
Who in their right mind wants San Antonio? Crazy talk. That said, it'll most likely be them. Daryl will get his wish a year later.
I hope it goes to 6 or 7. Either team will be tough but SA has the experience but I like the Rockets chances with the way the team is currently playing with either team.
You do realize that the Clippers are about to go down 0-3???? and that OP himself just said that no team has never come back after being down 3-0???? This would imply that we will play the Spurs and which makes this thread a lesson in futility.
The way things stand right now (Clippers down by 35 with 5 minutes to go, Spurs about to lead series 0-3)...the chances of us playing the Clippers are about as good as we play the Charlotte Bobcats. Prepare for Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard, guys.
Clippers. They're all a bunch of fake tough guys and CP3 is the league's least accomplished major star.
I've gone back and forth on this, but tonight sealed it…..give me the Clippers. Even if the Clippers come back and win this series, I still would prefer them over the Spurs.
First, let's win the first round. Understand we are up 3-0, but still. Second, let's play whoever we get. Whatever happens, will happen. If we want that championship ring, we have to beat the best teams And be ready to play whoever. Let the cards fall in place and let's charge on.
