ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Mavericks 4/24/2015 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 3)

Jalen picked Dallas before the series too.

 

We're only down 7 but all the reactions in this thread made it seem like we were being blown out by 20.

 

Actually they've scored 36 in both the 1st and 2nd quarter. That tells me the defensive effort isn't there at all. The Rockets got cocky after dropping 42 in the 1st quarter, but they had to know there's no way they can maintain that pace which is exactly what came to pass in the 2nd quarter when they scored barely half of that amount with 23 points.

The good news is they're only down 7 and they haven't played a lick of defense. If they actually try on that end of the floor and stop giving up easy transition buckets, they'll be fine. Dallas won't shoot 57.4% for the game if their shots are challenged.

 

Say what? Harden's been our best player so far. He's playing great. The game will be won or lost depending on whether the Rockets play defense.

 

What else is he gonna do... 18 points first half not enough?

 

Last game we played in Dallas about 2 or 3 weeks ago, Rockets were losing by 7-8 at halftime and at one point in the 4th quarter. We got thisssss

 

Rockets need a shot blocker in the game at all times.

Seriously you need to buy a new TV or a pair or new glass or just watch another sport.

LOL... People are b****ing and moaning when we were up 6 points 1st Q too. How is this acceptable??? If they play better, we were up by 20 points!!!

 

Yeah, they know they can come back against this team and win. I just don't wanna see them lose this game because they didn't compete. That's inexcusable.

 

First 3 good minutes, even this thing up. Play some defense. Guys are looking to have home run. That has to change.

 

Nobody on our team has blocked a shot so far. Pathetic defense.

 

Maybe because the Mavs have turned our double digit lead around and have been utterly abusing us.

All right guys. We have dug a nice little grave for ................. Dirk and Tyson.

We're going to run all the rubber off their tires in the second half and bury them.

This series is over.

 

Transition defense was really really really bad. When Dallas starts on a run like that you have to do something different defensively. JET & Pablo are solid for the offense, but they REALLY hurt our D.

Also, Ariza just didn't look right. Not focused, short on a lot of his shots including his FTs.

Need more assists. A lot more assists. This one on one crap is getting us killed and leading to easy points for the douchbags. Defending against easy layups would be nice, too. We need to put these ponies down.

 

I would like for him to attack more, especially if Tyson is going to be glued to Howard.

He played well but we should expect more from him and he, himself. He had a golden chance to take over the game and stop the run, but chose to let Smith run some plays. No one on Dallas can stop him, he has to play like it. He has been settling for the step back jumper. That is letting Dallas' porous defense off the hook.

First 6 minutes of the half will tell if he wants to take over or not.
