ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Mavericks 4/24/2015 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 3)

I think they now it's gonna be refs + Mavs vs. rox tonight... seems they're resigned to that fact. Josh not even contesting/runout. Not getting back on defense. No sense of urgency. Taking ill advised shots early in the shot clock. They need to make a couple of hard fouls on Monta and Barea to slow them down. Maybe put dorsey out there for some hard fouls.

 

It takes a lot of physical and emotional energy to do what Dallas did at 2nd Q. They can't do it every Q. Regroup and do better execution in 2nd half and play defense. Go Rockets.

 

Agree J...it's not like Dallas has put on a defensive clinic themselves.

Pick and roll defense needs to get better.
Transition defense needs to get better.

Prigs is worthless. Just stick Nick Johnson in there for D.

Just got to play our game.

We tried to run with them in the 2nd half with Prigs and Smith as the points, that won't work!

We settled for quick shots instead of working the ball around or running PnR.

I think we find ourselves next half. If we play defense, we have this game. Harden has to be more involved. He has 18 points but he hasn't been aggressive at all. He has to attack!

 

Prig and Terry are playing some horrifying defense, which is no surprise at all, and somehow Mchale willing to give a chance to Capela but not Johnson.

 

We're really slow on our rotations today, Smith in particular. Need to toughen up a bit

 

Which is why the Mavs are playing so hard. This is going to be the best game they play or at least it has to be. That's how they approached it.

Will the Rockets get greedy as they say in a series? Will they wake up and realize they can end this in 4 and move on?

Last night's games were VERY similar to this one. Between the Cavs-Celtics/Bucks-Bulls/Pelicans-Warriors...all very similar. The team down 0-2 plays probably the best game they will ever play. They are desperate and we just have to match that desperation.

I think if we keep this thing close going into the fourth the Rockets will smell the blood and finish them off.

 

I really hate "fans" like that. Nobody wants to hear their crap.

 

Chill out. You have a long history of acting like an emotional girl. Mavs had a good quarter with the Rockets playing uncharacteristically. It was only the second quarter. We have another half to right the ship. Even if not, we are still up in the series if Dallas wins this one. Chill out.

 

We have been without Dwight tonight....maybe he will get involved in the 2nd half. He has had 3 layups over him by Barea.

 

Right if we play defense, get stops and run pick n roll to death we should be fine.

Only a 7 point game this is still very winnable with a no defense Dallas team.

If we just can keep players in front of us in the second hald we should be fine. Slowing down Ellis is key.

Craziest half of basketball I have seen all season. More like a YMCA pick up game.

If Aminu is getting playing time, so should Johnson, defense did not out shoot the Rox to regain the lead, they got stops.
