I agree with you. Thanks for posting Cyberx. I've always liked LA but I just find it hard for him to land here. I would hate to lose a guy like Ariza but bringing LA here would be awesome.
When players could get extra years and money for s&t's, teams would trade that additional year for assets, since then the general rule of thumb is, if they say they'll do a s&t, they will, if they say they won't, they won't. There's always a third situation where they simply won't answer but that's incredibly unlikely. If they say they won't, acting like you think you can force them to change their mind is folly, they've already said they're willing to lose them for nothing.
I think it's either Portland or SAS. Why would he move from a team with an elite PG to a team without an elite anything, i.e. Dallas? Yeah they would be good, but no better, if not worse, than Portland. IF it is the Spurs, how crappy would that be? Move on from Parker/Manu/Duncan to Leonard/LMA/Parker until a replacement PG can be found. Rebuilds apparently do not exist in SA. I hope Morey is able to build something similar.
I love about the secondary game of the Rockets FO moves, but I'm not going to entertain such discussions until I see what this team can do in the playoffs and I'll critic then. But for those of you complaining about what people are talking about in here need to layoff or just simply don't click on this thread. There's plenty of playoff discussion going on in the GARM. If people want to talk about off season moves there's no legit reason why they shouldn't be able to. The cyber thread is (if anything) is purposed for speculation and trade rumors.
Here's a suggestion to help with your nausea. Why not wait to READ this thread until the offseason if you don't want to read it now? No one is forcing you. And some people are grateful for any inside info cyberx is willing to share with us and happy to get it whenever he's ready to share it.
So we can we keep Ariza, or not, in trading for LMA? I've read posts indicating it is and isn't possible.
It's not surprising that Aldridge might be considering the Rockets and vice versa. And it's also unsurprising that many of us are excited about the possibility. It still kind of feels weird to think about this now. It's almost as if we get more enjoyment over the off-season moves than the actual performance of the team.
I think it speaks to the NBA brand and a type of fan in general. I easily enjoy the transactional aspects/team management of the league as much as anything else.
Every year Morey brings in a new crop of role players, and every year once the offseason rolls around posters start to express trepidation over losing chemistry and giving up the supporting guys that they've grown attached to over the season. I get it, it's human, but you have to put that aside. It's easier to replace a role player than acquire an all-star. Given Dwight's uncertain future (at least as far as health is concerned), we need to go after LMA if he's available. CANNOT let the Spurs get him.
Paying for a liability on the floor isn't a bargain and that's a major diss to Smith to compare them in any way.
