I hear there's an incredible Olive Garden in Times Square.

Thanks for the suggestions! They help. Keep them coming if someone has a suggestion that hasn't been mentioned yet.

I probably should have specified in the OP but I'm ok with ~$300/night if it's decent and in a great location. I just didn't want to pay any more than that. Obviously a cheaper hotel that's still nice enough and in a great location would be better.

This will also probably a mostly dry vacation - my wife can't drink right now and I've never had much fun being the only one drinking. But it seems like there will still be plenty of good things to do without spending tons on alcohol (which is out of the norm for me while on a vacation).

Just stay in Manhattan. Its 300-400 bucks, but its worth it. Everything is around that area.

Midtown Manhattan. You should be able to find hotels there in your price range. And to the poster who posted the doubletree hilton room on Lex, I stay there for work a few times a year and have actually had a room smaller than that! Terribly small rooms, crap bar but good location. OP, avoid that one if you can.

    BUMP

Hotel is booked. Staying right near Times Square.

Now, as for the What should I do in NYC? I could use some more suggestions if yall have any.

Again, I've only been once before and my wife has never been. We will likely do the stereotypical touristy stuff but more recommendations on touristy stuff to do and touristy stuff to avoid would be appreciated!

I realize this is a joke, but our last night there, we seriously considered going. We were missing food we knew.
