RC seems to have thrown Parsons under the bus; he says Parsons downplayed his injury. Did Dallas even test the knee? Are they going by what players say instead of science?

If this happened here in Houston there would have been e-riots everywhere! As much as people hate on the training staff, I think the Rockets do a good job with injuries.

When Rockets were bringing back Dwight some fans were calling for McHale to lift the minutes restriction so Rockets could get the 2 seed; McHale stuck to what the doctors told him to do no mater what. Dwight looks like he is in peak form because of the way Rockets handled his injuries.

To be fair these are talent evaluators/scouts, they know talent but they dont know about managing $$$. Also they were right, before Dallas brought in Rondo they were having the best offense in NBA history due to Parsons complementing Dirk and Monta. If they had a guy like Bev at pg instead of 4 defensive liabilities and Tyson Chandler I think they wouldve been elite.

With that said trading for Rondo rental and offering Parsons MAX money were downright stupid moves, Cuban should fire himself for being such a dumbass.

I wonder if being heavy contributed to this injury.

He dad, bro, and mother are a bit more portly in build. Wouldn't be surprised if he went to extremes just to maintain his weight through out the years. Once he retires I have doubt he'll be 350+ based on his dad's current physique @ like 6'6".

Is he still packing those extra lbs he put on before last season? If so, maybe he should slim back down to his playing weight from his first two years. I don't think he missed any games back then.

With Rockets, he was having back issues once per year.

He missed a handful of games last season. And the Rockets really struggled without him(they lost to a crappy Jazz team in a game he sat out). But this is the first really serious injury he's had in his career.

If he needs microfracture, then refusing to match that deal looks like a brilliant move in retrospect by Morey. Man, did we ever dodge a hail of bullets last summer with Melo, Bosh, and now Parsons.

Doubt it..I think too much is made about extra weight. It's not like he was overweight, they just wanted him lighter for his role.

Considering his back issues last year, likely had mechanical problems already. When back issues creep up like that, it usually means the lower back is picking up the slack too much, unless there was just one traumatic incident that injures it. Maybe inadequate training. I dont know how good his trainer is, but I believe he grew up with him. Maybe too much loyalty to his entourage, much like Tmac.

whoa microfracture? that sucks big time I mean a lot has changed when it comes to microfracture but its hard for me to see him reclaim any of his former athleticism if true.

I mean guys have come back and played at a high level were big men or a guy like Jason Kidd who didnt rely as much on his athleticism as the point guards of today do.

Bogut, Webber, McDyess, Kenyon Martin, Amare -- they all went on and had decent careers post microfracture, but they were shells of their former selves. Bogut has played very well this season but has always been injury prone since and even missed a few games this season as well.

The only guy I can think of that maybe the most similar in body type and all who had it was Jamal Mashburn he came back and played well the season after but then retired right after.

Microfracture is still the death of players. hopefully that isnt the case
