Carter is Ryan Howard 2.0 but worse. Strike out looking with the bases loaded, 2 outs and down 0-2 in the 8th. He should not be allowed to play Friday.
Do they really now? Both pitches they swung at were strikes... and Rodney's toughest pitch (changeup) breaks out of the zone. Chances are, advanced stats and scouting tells you to swing at anything you think you can hit with Rodney up there.
How the F do you have runners on the corners, 1 out, down by 1...and then swing at 2 pitches for 2 outs??? Total amateur status there. What a terrible, terrible way to end the game there. The Astros freaking had it in their hands. The inexperience shows clearly. And Springer needs to be moved to another part of the lineup. The dude is a career 0.220 hitter...he has no business batting 3rd.
Hernandez keeping us in this game is welcomed sign. Sucks we didn't get the sweep or take advantage of a few situations... but hot damn... I'll take that series win.
