Spurs have nobody that can guard Griffin. DJ can almost single-handedly control the boards by himself. If the Clips can continue playing at the pace they did yesterday and keep pushing the ball, the older legs of the Spurs will eventually get tired as the game goes on. Still, Jamal Crawford is the key. There's no way that LAC can win this matchup without him having a big series, because LA's bench is garbage. SA also got a lot of wide-open shots that they normally hit last game. Clips need to improve their closeout D as well if they want to win this series.

You sound like Leonard took them to 55 wins like Harden took the Rockets to 56 wins. Stopping the Spurs is not as simple as stopping just one player, like they can stop the Rockets.

And the only Spurs that are "old and slow" are Duncan and Ginobili. They have plenty of young players and they have good depth to not play the old players heavy minutes.

It's the Clippers who lack depth that would have problem to sustain a breakneck pace.

The Spurs' biggest problem is on defense. None of their bigs can stop Griffin. And Leonard can't guard both Paul and Reddick at the same time. The Clippers' starting lineup just have too many weapons. The Spurs can only hope that the Clippers' weak bench will finally pull them down.

I really believe that the spurs are done. I said it before the season and to me it remains. Sure, they made a furious run to try to improve their seeding only to end up 6th and they couldn't beat the pelicans when it counted most.

Think about that. You really think that a championship team, knowing that they have to beat 1 team to secure a 2nd seed, and couldn't exert their will onto another team is a championship contender?

    I don't think so.

This series is going to be easy for the clippers. I also believe that the clippers are going to make it to the west finals this year, because it is all set up for them. They get an old spurs team in the first round, in the second round they'll either get an old dallas team or an inexperienced rockets team in the second round.

The rockets are good, but very few teams who have never made it out of the first round of the playoffs, all the sudden win 2 series to get to the west finals. I mean it could happen but it ain't likely.

I suggest you check the Spurs performance this season when Kawhi was out vs he was playing.

The numbers are very clear, they almost have a net +10 (maybe more) difference with him or without him on defense.

He is not only the future of this team, but also the best player in this team now.

The Clippers did not double team any Spurs players yesterday but him, they are not giving any respect for the Spurs to take the outside 3s, as they know this will not kill them.

Most of Kawhi's shoot are mid range jumpers or low post plays, those are high % shoots, you take the ball out of his hands, you basically killed half of the offense of the Spurs.

Other than Timmy and Manu, what else can they go to regarding creating their own shots?

Parker? as the Spurs will tell you, he looks washed up most of this season and this is probably his worse season in the last 10 years. Diaw? He is old and fat and not even at the same level of last year.

The other so called young guys?

Green? Joseph? Mills? Belinelli? They are all spot up shooters and they are not shooting the ball that well collectively.

People keep saying the Spurs is great on passing, yes that could be true.

But when Parker is against CP3 (whose one of the best defender in his position), and Kawhi got double teamed often and they can not get any advantage inside,

where will be the offense coming from? long jumpers and 3s?

That's how the Clippers won that game.

What? The 2011 Thunder, 2011 Mavericks (champions), 2010 Suns, 2009 Nuggets, 2007 Jazz, 2005 Suns, 2004 Timberwolves all made it to the Western Conference Finals while either not making the playoffs the year before or not passing the first round. I didn't go any further back or check the East but it's more likely than not that 1/2 teams in the conference finals didn't do anything the previous year.

"what are you kidding me, now why are the officials going to the monitor?"

Judging by how that 1st quarter was officiated, the NBA is going to do their part to try and make sure this series goes back to San Antonio tied 1-1.

I'd rather play the Clippers. They're an athletic team that can make some plays but I don't think they're as deadly as San Antonio. Popovich will be able to pick us apart more than Doc Rivers could, plus they're the defending champs. I just hope this series goes to seven, so whoever we play would be more worn out.

I feel sorry for Clippers finishing 3rd, then having to play the spurs....it's unfortunate that Blazers are stuck on the 4th spot in reg season

In a fairer system, it should have been Memphis vs Spurs and Clippers vs Blazers...
