While people here whine about how Ken Mauer will screw the Rox by not calling fouls,

seems no one actually remembered how Ken Mauer called 5 Technicals In 10 Seconds in this game :

Here's a good site with Referee stats: http://www.nbastuffer.com/referee_stats

Looks like Ken Mauer is good for the away teams, as the home teams only have a .455 winning % with him as the "Main" ref.

    Prepare for the worst.

    - Mavs shoot 50 free throws; 30 of them in the 4th.
    - Howard gets kicked out of the game for blocking a shot in the stands in the 2nd quarter for "Disrespecting the game" and "Throwing the ball in the stands".
    - Harden gets zero calls, even when Dallas is clearly taking a foul.
    - Dirk scores 40 points on 8-12 shooting because he shoots 24-26 free throws.
    - McHale gets a technical for staring bewildered at the ref, "He gave me that look to intimidate me" technical.

I agree we don't depend on the officiating crew to win us the game. I have previously stated that if the Rockets aren't getting fouls called when they are hacked that the answer to that is to go to the defensive end and ratchet up the physicality. You have to assume a fair whistle and play by the whistle. So you have to assume that whatever physical contact isn't called on one end won't be called on the other end.

My point was to the integrity of the game. For the good of the league, Mauer shouldn't be out there tonight.

Thanks--I compiled some nice data from there.

Ken Mauer has reffed 18 games for the Rockets since 2012. The Rockets won 9 out of those 18 (50%).

It is a small sample size, but given that the rockets have been an above .500 team over that period, it is not particularly encouraging. But the game is still winnable with Mauer as the official.

Ok I understand what you are saying regarding integrity and completely agree.

Not to defend Mauer in the previous Memphis game, but even if that hack on Harden was as obvious as Day, isn't it plausible that most officials in that situation (at that time) probably wouldn't call it anyway?

I've seen a lot of no-calls at the buzzer from a multitude of officials.

Because the Clippers ran away with the game and officiating one way or the other would have made no difference.

No calls is one thing. An entire no-call game, which is what the Bulls game was, is another. That was absolutely terrible.

As far as the Duncan hack goes, sure it's plausible that the officials swallow their whistle in those situations. It is not less wrong though, just because they do it. By the league's own document to clarify shooting fouls, a point the league emphasized, a shooting foul should have been called. Here it is for your perusal:

Bingo! because the Clippers took care of business at home and made officiating (bad or good) irrelevant.

    So goes the Rockets tonight...

I actually didn't get a chance to watch the Bulls game. This was at Chicago this season correct?

Were the calls just one-sided? or blatant fouls were not called for both sides?

after what happened this past season, the assignment of mauer & malloy has to be the worst possible scenario for a rockets team at home. getting these 2 together out of a pool of ~75 refs must just be coincidence though.

While people keep whining at Mauer, the funny thing is they did not even take a look at the film what happened.

On that missed call against the Griz, its the ref on the sideline whose responsible to make this call rather than Mauer, whose vision probably got blocked, and whose Harden yelling at after the missed call? not Mauer.

Very one sided. I think something like 27-13 foul count against us. And the Bulls shot 30 free throws to our 5. And Harden got hacked multiple times.
