I don't necessarily agree that Bev with a weakened hand is better than Terry or Prigioni overall. They are just exact opposites on offense and defense, which is a net impact of 0. The only thing that makes Bev a better option than these guys is his decent 3pt shooting which means he's not a TOTAL liability on offense in the way that Prigs and Terry are total liabilities on defense. Sitting for weeks and then playing with a weak wrist will certainly mean Bev will be a good defensive player who can't hit any shots and can't run the offense. How is that better than Prigioni who is - despite his slump - a fantastic shooter and passer but a zero on defense? Sorry Bev should sit out, especially if this mix of players somehow makes it to the WCF. I wouldn't be opposed to him coming off the bench if we made the NBA finals though. Other than that, he's only hurting himself and his team by forcing the issue. I hope the doctors block him out.
Rockets have their post season roster set. And it will be without DMO and Beverly for all intents and purposes. This does not concern me. What concerns me is Harden and Howard WILLING the team through the playoffs. That simply needs to happen. Doesn't matter who the Rockets play. If Harden and Howard stick to the pick and roll and let Harden create and dish, every series should be theirs to lose. GS and SPURS or anyone else wouldn't be able to handle it....I don't care who they are. So my concern is whether Harden/Howard will stick to that very simple 2 man game. David
Let me save you the grief and tell you right now, it won't happen as consistently as it should. What I'm hoping for is to have an order in choosing how to play. Find the open man. If not available, run a HH PnR. If not possible, run a Harden iso. If not possible, go to Howard down low.
Are you saving me the grief because McHale won't do it? or Is not practical for any coach to employ? I agree with your second paragraph and that is more or less what I was trying to convey. Pick and Roll should be the standard and the primary. Harden will be the playmaker to drive, toss it to Howard on the roll or dish out to the open man for 3. Either way, pick and roll needs to be force fed in any series in my opinion.
i think the entire board is right there with you, and has been for 2 years now. This should be 2 out of every 3 plays we run, if not higher. The issue is, when Jones' guy leaves him to help, can Harden (or if he's already passed it, Howard) find Jones near the basket ? I'm just a dumb fan, but if i were prepping these guys for the playoffs, i would have them run that play over and over while bringing defensive help from every angle to make sure, no matter what they see, they can find the open man in rhythm.
Bev is so undervalued on this board, like Rafer was. I remember when Rafer missed a few games in the 08 playoffs, we had no chance. We had to rely on an ancient Bobby Jackson to carry the load. We were 0-3 without Rafer, 2-1 with him.
This possibility sounds doubtful to me...but you can't deny that Bev is hungry and has a love for the game. Wonderful guy to root for!

You raise a fair point sir. Although I am comfortable with Prigs/Terry. Having all three guys to throw out there wouldn't hurt at all.
You would hope that McHale has learned his lesson w/ Pablo like he has w/ Capela and would use all three. That rotation would be pretty sweet.
