While your generalities are absolute: "Infantry is for idiots"... "If you are just infantry you ain't ****", my assertions describe tendencies. Infantry MOS' have a TENDENCY to be more dangerous or infantry mos' have a TENDENCY to require more dedication and physical and mental endurance.

Even non-infantry vets would tell you to shut your mouth. No, when non infantry mos' are not busy doing their job they are not out doing infantry work but rather holding up the line at the MWR(internet center). You want an explicit example as your comments expose your inexperience in deployments at least in Afghanistan?

There are the main bases in the Helmand region of Afghanistan: Dwyer, Letherneck, Bastion etc. These are heavily built up bases with almost every modern amenity (showers, actual toilets, full dining halls, internet centers with big screen televisions, full trauma centers etc). This is were celebrities and notable politicians will stop for 'support the troop' campaigns. Mark Wahlberg was at Dwyer at the end of our deployment. Then there are the fobs in the conflict AO's such as Marjah or Trek Nawa in the south and Korangal Valley in the North. These fobs might have a couple of generators that might power a couple of tents' air conditioning but no actual toilets, or actual inclosed showers, internet centers etc. The fob is basically comprised of mud brick walls of a former structure that was probably part of the village's market; And THEN there are the actual patrols and missions on foot set outside these fobs.

A LARGE majority of non combat MOS' service members will never leave the first tier of bases during the duration of their deployment. That is the objective truth. Infantry units or 'Victor units' such as ours (2nd battalion 6th Marines) use the initial tier of bases for acclimatization (training to get used to the dangerous levels of temperature that we will experience). The infantry unit will stay at this base for no more than 2 weeks before helo inserting into the AO that the unit will stay in for the remainder of it's 7 month deployment until they return to the major bases roughly around 2 weeks before their deployment ends for some well deserve R&R. When you refer to non combat mos' personnel that 'do our work' the best example I can muster up are those non-infantry personnel attached to our unit. Even then, they might stay at the fob and might even go on general census and show of force patrols but on an actual mission such as an ambush patrol only direct combat mos' will be participating.

So when you state that non combat mos' perform infantry 'work' on their spare time, I do not know what you are referring to. Do non-infantry personnel go on census patrols in a AO that is already cleared? Sure.

However, non infantry personnel will hardly ever be in a position where they are purposely seeking contact or expecting contact.

I took a look at the first post, and as usual, I was disgusted with the content as well as the person who came up with it. And then, I scrolled down to the next post, but not before I saw the OP with his disgraceful use of MLK's spoken words of wisdom, and I remembered how the OP has used a consistent amount of hatred towards minorities, women and everyone who doesn't live the same life or share the same values.

It must be a lonely place to have so much disgust for other human beings. It must be incredibly difficult to have friends, or family, who can keep up with such unwarranted, polarizing ideas which lack any sort of evidence or validity. That must be a quiet house, which is understandable.

For the rest of us, we can do better, and, we do.
