    I got Rockets winning it 107 - 89
    Harden with some sort of triple double.
    Dwight with a double double.
    Capela with a double double.
    Josh 5-5 from 3's.

    lol just did my math and it equalled 128. Totally off from my 114 prediction.

    Oh well. 128 - 104 sounds good to me ;)

    i am still concerned...

    teams #2-7 in the west are only separated by less than 6 wins..no one is arguably better than anyone.

    If you just looked at our Net Ratings, you'd see two very evenly matched teams. Over the course of the entire season, the Rockets and Mavs were pretty damn even with Houston being a hair better.

    But those season-long ratings don't take into account the fact that Dwight Howard was out for so many games in Houston and Rajon Rondo was a mid-season acquisition. Take a look at the Rockets ratings w/ Howard on the floor vs. the Mavs' ratings w/ Rondo on the floor.

    With RONDO and HOWARD on the floor
    Team --- ORtg --- DRtg --- NetRtg
    HOU ----- 108.7 -- 100.2 --- +8.5
    DAL ----- 103.4 -- 104.7 --- -1.3

    When Dwight is playing, the Rockets elevate themselves to a true title contender. When Rondo is playing, the Mavs are below-average. Both of those guys will be playing in this series.

    Bev and DMo being out sucks. I hate it. But with Harden/Howard/Ariza/Smith/Brewer/Jones all healthy, there are no excuses. The Rockets are better than the Mavs. Sure Carlisle is a great coach, Dirk is a legend, and "Playoff Rondo" is a major wild-card. But Houston SHOULD win this series because they are the better team.

    IMO, key to the series will be getting Tyson Chandler in foul trouble. With Howard and Harden, that shouldn't be too hard for the Rockets to do. When Chandler gets on the bench, there's no way the Mavs can stop our offense.

    Should be fun. I've been waiting a long time to get revenge on the Mavs. I respect them but I hate them even more. This has been a huge season in the career of James Harden and I'm proud of his growth. But he needs to answer the playoff question marks and have a great series. If he does that, no way this team loses. Let's go Beard. Let's go Rockets. Can't wait.

    All I know is that it makes me physically ill to see, "ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Mavericks 5/7/2005 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 7)" on the Similar Threads section. I hope today is the start of a very cathartic playoff run for the Rockets!! Would be a dose of payback long, long overdue.
