I hope batman loses this fight. The best thing about the batman universe is that somehow the villains always win. Joker will always break out of prison, riddler will always outsmart batman. In all honesty batman is pretty useless. As for superman, there's always a gleam of hope, like Jesus. With all the riches and man power that batman has, he still sucks.lol
Zach Snyder is directing this movie. Oh my god **** that guy. His movies look cool when you watch it the first time and then his style causes nausea.
Looks interesting. The dialogue actually sounds WAY better than Man Of Steel's pretty bad dialogue. Probably because an Academy-Award winning writer did this script. And the messianic imagery is off the charts here, with the "Dia de los Muertos" Mexicans reaching out to Superman, then the soldiers kneeling down to him. This actually looks...ridiculously interesting. And then we'll get our good fix of blockbuster action with the eventual showdown, where Superman's humanity will be used against him, proving for an even battle. I just hope it doesn't go MoS route of doing that for literally the last hour of the movie. But the fact that it's written by someone not named David Goyer gives me lots of hope. Snyder is good when he's not in charge of the script and talented people give him the script, like in Watchmen. Hoping this movie is as awesome as the trailer makes it seem.
this is what i came in here to ask...so in the comics there was a storyline about this? i think this could be a fun flick...i'm gonna need to see a little more though.
Yes but it's superman working for the government trying to stop batman. Seems like they've reversed it for the movie but I doubt bats is working for the government. He's probably just worried about supes being a threat to the planet.
I don't think the preview for sure implies that it is Superman who is 'cruel'. I suspect they are following the novel, in which Batman has become too much of a loose cannon, and the government sends Superman in to bring him down. Not going to spoil it though, it is a superb graphic novel, so read it if you want to know the details.
Great novel indeed. And for those too lazy to read it they did make it into an animated film which is great too.
No, Batman was essentially being hunted for murder by the new Chief of Police in Gotham, and of course Bats was having none of that, so the more the local government failed to catch him, despite increasingly ramped-up efforts, the President finally takes notice and calls in his ultimate go-to-guy, Superman, to go to Gotham and catch Batman. It was not intended as a hate-filled battle, nor were they particularly enemies, other than the fact that they were opposed out of necessity. Needless to say, Batman knew exactly what he was getting into, he knew they would eventually send Superman after him, and he prepared for the conflict to the best of his abilities, which was, frankly, a heck of a lot, and it was definitely not silly, as so many people have assumed such a conflict would be. That's just a brief synopsis, I strongly urge people to read it.. even if the movie is NOT following this in any way, it's still worth picking up and reading, just because it's awesome in its own right.
The Animated 2 part film does a great job of translating it, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, at least IMO.
