We need some definite roll call for the Sat game. I believe it would be the best game because it is a weekend game (aka no work/school). I put in Blondie's as my suggestion/recommendation. Right off the 1 train subway as well. Thus, one does not have to walk far. Edit: based on last year, they had audio when I went with some CF peeps. I hope they back me up on this one.
I very much want to be there but may not know until Saturday morning - Reason is that I'm 4 days into one of the worst colds I've ever had in my life and it's not letting up yet. I also still have been having to go to work (long story) so it's been a real crappy week. Anyway, if the cold breaks soon and Saturday I'm feeling OK, I'll be there. If I still feel sick, I'm not trying to get you all sick so I'll have to pass. Also, if I come on Saturday, I may end up bringing wifey. I'll keep checking this thread in the meantime.
I'm down too. Why Blondie's though? Can't we go somewhere a little more central (aka under central park)? Any good places near Union Square/East Village? Need sound for sure.
I chose Blondie's last year because it's a block from my apt. It worked out well because it was also close to jbasket and I was with two other friends. So at the time it was centrally located. A few other fans showed up and we basically had a private viewing party. Every TV in the back room had the game on with sound. It shouldn't be hard to replicate that in NY, although it was nice to just have our small group of guys in the private room (as opposed to large crowds).
The reason for Blondie's is because of the success last year. I am recommending the "don't fix what ain't broke", and it is also nice that it is right off a subway station, IIRC. Finding sound is such a crap-shoot, and watching the game would really suck without it, so (imho), it is best to go to a place that we (redefined and I) know worked previously with sound. I am not really aware of other places, so take that into consideration as well hahaha
Yes, and yea, Blondie's is the way to go. It is a place where we got peeps before as well. We can get a solid turn-out, easily. It doesn't have to be said that one can invite friends as well.
Mini Bump. Who else is in? There are clearly some confirmed to go. That is without a doubt. So one needs not be worried about nobody showing. Me, Layup Drill, Basketball Reasons, Fuzzybear (?), Rockfan (health permitting) with wifey, hvic (?) swyyguy, krnxsnoopy maybe's? need some contact back. Obviously, this is not accounting for the friend affect as well. I cannot assume CFers have friends (jokes).
And we can't be outgunned by the LA fans; that would just be embarrassing I will be starting an official Blondie's viewing thread so it'll be more clear.
Should have specified: Rockets fans in LA that are meeting up. Can't let them have more peeps than us :grin:
