Actually, there is a prevailing sentiment among cinéaste's that Die Hard 2 is the better film in the franchise.
I think you need to examine your use of the words "prevailing" and "cinéaste". Because there is a very popular website that collects reviews from critics and fans all into a single score. I mean do YOU like Die Hard 2 better? Feel free to say that, just don't say that is the "prevailing sentiment" because it isn't.

JJ Abrams tends to go for the unearned nostalgia by just dropping in old characters and references. Did the same thing in Star Trek. Hopefully this will be something more than that.

Both of their teaser trailers were a huge success for me... really gave Star Wars fans a feel for the originals.
