Whats left in the queue past 2015 for the next couple of years:
    ...................................................................................................
    2016:

    Picks the Rockets own:

-The Rockets own 2016 first rounder
    -The Knicks 2nd rounder

    Picks the Rockets owe:

-The Rockets own 2nd rounder (protected 31 to 45 so could realistically still get this pick)

    ......................................................................................................
    2017:

    Houston owns:

    -Houston's own 1st rounder
    -Portland's 2nd rounder (no protection)

    Houston owes:

-Their own 2nd rounder (no protection)

    ....................................................................................................

So if the Rockets still want to put together a mega trade this Summer, they have the assets cleared up to do so. No only do they have young players to offer, they'll have a couple nice salary matching contracts (Papanikolaou & Prigioni), and could offer multiple 1st round picks along with multiple 2nd rounders. They don't own any 1st rounders from likely lottery teams, but they do still have quite a bit to trade if they want to be active AGAIN this Summer in trades. Especially now that the pick obligation is now freed up from the Lin trade.

it is a shame we could not get 2 seed and that late lottery choice. 14 would've been fun.

So to draft best available @18 and PG @32? Or reverse and take PG @ 18 and best available @32? I guess will depend on what PGs are available @ 18. Hopefully Kris Dunn is still there.

There are lots of good players in this year draft. 18th pick is not bad at all.

Would be terribly appropriate, with Shane Larkin and Tyler Ennis as the previous #18 picks to come out. All three guys are undersized PG's with great court vision but no tangibles like length (Elfrid Payton) or speed (Ty Lawson) to immediately net them any playing time. In fact, all three made/are making mistakes by coming out early rather than pulling a Chris Paul and waiting until they can be a clearly dominant force in the NCAA first.

Tyus Jones can score on his own, but he also shot +40% from the 3 pt line in conference play.

Considering Harden will be playing point guard anyway, a knock down 3 pt shooter to space the floor is exactly what we need. And he can score when Harden isn't in the game.

I find those picks quite impressive. Jones, Bledsoe, Lawson, Bellinelli, and Green are all good to very good players. Go back 2 more years and add JR Smith and David West to that list. This pick could end up being very useful.

Which means (to me) that Rox need some GM with the right player to fall in love with someone who falls to #18.

Yep, Harden needs a Klay Thompson.. Will have that MVP locked up next year. (Assuming he doesn't catch a break this year)

Lebron once said Napier was the best NCAA player last year and will be the savior for the Heat.

BPA at #18. It just so happens to be that Cameron Payne could be that guy... he is going to be a very good professional.

Ouch to LOFs who thought we'd regret trading Lin.

Clutch: Houston’s own first-round pick, which will be #27 or #28, was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers last July to get them to agree to take Jeremy Lin off of the Rockets’ hands. The second-round pick that the Rockets also sent the Lakers (from the Clippers) needed to be between 51 and 55 to be conveyed, but it will be 57 or 58, so the Lakers got nothing there. Given how Lin played for the Lakers and his enormous salary (and sizable cap hit), this proved to be a very good deal at the cost of a very late first-rounder (guaranteed contract on the books). The Rockets also used the trade exception created by that move to land Corey Brewer.

Rockets dropped the salary, outplayed predictions to land outside the 2015 conveyance requirements, AND got Corey Brewer with the TPE.

Adding #18 first rounder and #32 on a non-guaranteed contract to the 3rd best team in the league. Absolutely brilliant. We can probably move into the lottery if we combine those two picks.

K-Pap + #18 + #32 + our 2016 first rounder or Nick Johnson is an incredible package for anyone trying to get young. Easily grab a solid PG with that package.

OTOH I wouldn't be shocked if Nick Johnson impresses us in training camp next year.

    What a great dilemma.
