Going to say this now, Curry winning the MVP will be the best thing to happen to Harden and the Rockets. If an 11 minute YouTube video can challenge Harden to drastically improve his defense then getting snubbed as MVP would create A huge chip on his shoulder. A chip I want to see. Could you imagine him taking it to another level? Screw the league MVP, Lets get him the Finals MVP.

If getting snubbed for MVP cripples Harden and backfires like you say, then we must not have watched the same Harden this year. He deserves MVP for what he's done this season, but getting snubbed will prove to be extremely beneficial. It'll be like Dream getting snubbed for Robinson. He'll be out for blood.
Let Curry win it and they can present it to him before the WCF against us and then Harden can go Hakeem on him.
Only way it would backfire is of Harden had zero pride. Clearly, he proved that he's got pride and enough confidence in himself to say that he was the best all around player in the league before the season started.

Matt Harping and whoever the pbp guy for the Jazz were saying they voted for Curry with the best player on the best team and don't punish Curry for not playing the 4th quarter. Everybody I watched saying they are voting for Curry pretty much all used that logic. First time I heard such a thing was from the Starters like a month ago.
I love how the narrative of why you should vote for a player as the MVP changes each year depending on who the media darling is. Oh, Steve Nash is having an amazing year? Well then we need to vote for the player that is most irreplaceable! Oh, Lebron is having an amazing year? Well then we need to vote for the player with the highest statistical dominance! Oh, Durant is the guy we want? Well then we need to go with best offensive player! Oh, Curry is a good looking guy in California? Well then we need to go for the "best player on the best team!"

It is even crazier when you realize Kobe didn't win the MVP in '07. You're missing the point, "bro". It is one thing to defend the guy, but try and do so with some sound reasoning, some stats to support your position. You know, the things that an intelligent and rational person would use. Instead, we get 2 or 3 reasonable responses sprinkled hither and yon in a field of "**** that guy", "he's r****ded", "Curry is a little *****", "It's only because the media likes him", "Harden is basically a god while Curry is a butt-head". Curry is having a VERY good season that is absolutely deserving of MVP consideration. Don't think he should actually win it? Fine. I think Harden would be a legitimate choice, too, but let's not be dumb about it. You want to see how delusional people are? Look at the post justtxyank made about Hakeem and supposedly getting "snubbed" the year Robinson got MVP. People would rather hold on to this false notion that Hakeem didn't win because people didn't like him, didn't like the Rockets, or because the media loved Robinson, when it couldn't be further from the truth. Bet that narrative never changes here, though.
This is what has to say why he pick Curry Curry doesn't have 3 to 4 guys eying on him trying to stop him on every possession. He is a great shooter, maybe the best ever, but wait a minute ... is that what MVP is about in this league. In the end, all those factors he mentioned, to me, it's that subjective factor -i.e. biased- or they are just that dumb.
