1. A lot of P&R involving josh smith and harden or basically whoever Dirk is guarding....this is one of the reasons i really want josh smith to start in this series since dirk doesn't play a lot of minutes i want his minutes to be matched up with joshes min.....take advantage of dirks defensive liabilities and slow footwork....harden should attack him if its a good screen every single time 2.Contain their current rocket killer monte ellis...Trevor ariza is gonna have a tough time and i hope he's ready cuz this guy can ball. throw diff emenders at him and try to make him settle for outside shots This is a little bold but i would play prigioni much more than jason terry this series, simply because A.monte ellis has to work on defense, B. He plays the passing lanes really well so id rather him be playing on the ball jason terry is a spot up shooter .....playing pablo will force monte to fight off multiple screens, play the P&R if rondo does a good job on harden etc...
1) Harden has to get calls. This is the single most important thing for the Rockets. If the refs call fouls fouls, the Rockets are great. When they don't, Harden gets passive and it impacts him on both ends of the floor. 2) Ariza. Simple, but true. If Ariza shoots well this team can win a title. If Ariza puts up a horrendous 3 point line in a series, Rockets will REALLY have to work to overcome it. 3) Dwight has to be efficient. I don't think he needs to dominate for us to win this series, but he can't have bad nights where he is bricking a bunch of hook shots and turning the ball over in the post. He needs efficient scoring outputs and good rebound numbers. 4) A fourth player needs to step up on a nightly basis. It doesn't matter who it is, but each night we need good production out of one of Brewer, Terry, TJones, Smith, etc. Someone other than Harden/Ariza/Howard has to give you a good night consistently.
Let Ellis go off. Stop Dirk. Win the Rebound battle. D12 and Harden will get theirs. Must make our 3s.
I really want to see a concerted effort by everyone not named Dwight to get long rebounds. It is so disheartening after 20 odd seconds of tough defense to watch the ball bounce and an opposing player stroll over for it uninterrupted.
This is big. One of Dallas' weaknesses is rebounding, so we need to kill them on the boards. I know Dwight will do his part but TJones has to play like a f***ing man - none of those 20 minute, 1 rebound games. Other than that... limit their transition buckets. Force a Rajon Rondo-led offense to beat you in halfcourt sets.
Put our worst defender on him. That dude is fools gold. Also, have Harden guard Parsons when he needs a breather. Furthermore, what he said:
Aminu is a very talented forward but we CANT be letting him have double double night in and night out against our front court, Monta is pretty much the only person Im ok with going off against us, attack Dirk in the defensive end.
Have to attack Dirk. If he is on TJ or Smoove. Just drive right pass him for open shots. We seen Smoove do this last time versus Dallas. Have to calm down Ellis, was a reason why they was doing good versus us in the last Houston home game versus them. Our player must come to play, we have a horrible taste in our mouth from last year. It's time to get that taste out our mouth and play HARD. Harden and Howard must be on their A games.
Get Nick Johnson in the game when Rondo is on the floor when they're in the bonus and have him use his fouls
I agree with this. The league will step in eventually if playoff games devolve into this garbage. Fight trash with trash.
1. Don't play iso/hero ball 2. Talk on defense 3. take smart shots 4. Keep a body on Dirk 5. try to maintain Ellis
Let Parsons and Monta Have It All think they are dope and take away shots from Dirk. Are there any good shooters besides Dirk? (Not those two already mentioned)
