clippers have more than a chance. i think this series is a toss up. i think right now the warriors are the top team. with the clippers/rockets/spurs all about equal.

im telling you people the spurs will run out of gas this year. they do not have another 20-25 games of playoff level games in them.

Clippers turdlike bench is gonna get abused so hard. Ugh....

Still like the Clippers chances but the starters will have to play 40+ mpg....

Spurs in 5. Kawhi on CP3 will choke LACs offense at the end of games. LAC doesn't have the wings to cover Leonard, Ginobili or Green....that's a much bigger question for LAC than how the Spurs figure out guarding Griffin/Jordan.

Griffin and Jordan will pull off some amazing dunks, and the Spurs will ho hum to 10 point wins.

I think this series will go to game 7 down to the wire, and I think Rockets should have a decent chance against either of these teams should they make it to the 2nd round. Contrary to what most of the people think, Rockets with healthy Dwight can take on Spurs.

Clippers have a sorry bench and the Spurs bench will grind them to powder. In crunch time, Spurs will put Kawhi on CP3 and the Clippers offense will fail.

You believe the Spurs will run out of gas and can't win 4 playoff series. Fine and well. But they will have plenty of gas in the 1st round.

Hopefully the Clippers can win a couple and soften up the old Spurs for the Rockets.

Count me as one who would prefer to play the Spurs. They were on the hottest streak ever when we played them, but we slowed them down over two games. Give us four more and I think we take three. Yes they have the season series from us 3-1, and the Clipps split with us 2-2, but think back to past years. The lineups haven't changed much. LA swept us last year and have been kicking our butts for the better part of Chris Paul's tenure there. Kevin McHale has too much honor to hack-a-Jordan. On the other hand, we swept San Antonio last year.

So long as it's a drawn out, 6+ game series, I think a Clippers-Spurs bloodbath will wipe away the momentum that either team had going in. Once you take that away, the better matchup for the Rockets would be the Spurs. It's too early to make presumptions on this, but there you have it. I will be rooting against Chris Paul, and for San Antonio. I hate hate hate Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and the Flopping Bandits.

CP3 can flop to get Kawhi in foul trouble.

Spurs in 5. Clips have no such thing as a HCA and jamal Crawford is still not firing on all cylinders.

Will they? Look, I picked the Spurs in 6, so I do think they'll win. But it's worth considering that this team given their age will be running on fumes in the playoffs(even in Round 1). Look at what they had to do just to have a shot at the 2nd seed in the final game of the season. And this is not like last year where they had the #1 seed locked up weeks before the season was over and Pop was able to rest a bunch of guys. If their players weren't injured this year, they tended to play in most of the games including Duncan who's about to turn 39.

2nd round against the Clippers would be without HCA for the Rockets, right? Not sure why anyone would root for that scenario.

    not sure if srs

You realize we are the 2 seed? That means only the Warriors have HCA over us

And the Clippers have pretty much no chance beating the Spurs, their bench is just awful.

Rockets were the 2 seed against 3 seed Seattle in '93, and did not have HCA. Has that format changed?

I don't think winning the division back then trumped winning the season series. Seattle was 3-1 against us that year(including winning both games in Japan to start the season).

Get by Dallas first, but after that I'm not sure which of these teams I'd rather face. They both present unique problems for us. Let's see how the Spurs play in the series. If they are on fire again, I guess I'd rather face the Clippers, but I do think our strengths play better against the Spurs.

I'd prefer the Clippers. Chris Paul has never been out of the 2nd round(vs what the Spurs have done). Their bench sucks. DeAndre Jordan allows you to stay in the game since he's a 40% foul shooter. And correct me if I'm wrong, but Dwight didn't play in a single one of the games against them this season yet we still went 2-2(and yes, I'm aware Griffin didn't play in 2 of those games for the Clippers).
