I would love to see ISIS take on the cartel.

But you know, ISIS isn't really one group. I could see a fanatic cell determined to strike the Great Satin. I could see a Afghan heroin/cartel relationship established. It wouldn't surprise me if we had a gunman in a mall situation happen.

But panic and overreaction wouldn't help, you just need stay prudent and reasonable.

The rationale I have heard from multiple people is valid enough for me to use Daesh instead of IS.

There are two main reasons:

1. The name Islamic State strengthens the recruiting and propaganda power of the Daesh.

2. The Daesh HATE the name Daesh. It's an insult.

Those two reasons are good enough for me. It has nothing to do with worrying about offending Islam. I couldn't care any less about offending a religion.

 

These guys have been scaremongering an "imminent" attack from these apparently not-so-secret terrorist camps since 2012.

Even a patriot of the immense stature of Louie Gohmert has been ever vigilant on this imminent threat to America. He was railing about it back in 2013.

 

As someone who enjoys Mexican food, this hits close to home.

And if anything is popping down in Mexico it's probably the CIA. These are scare tactics. The media has been pushing IS in Mexico since last year. And "IF" something blows up over here American citizens will have someone to blame (see 9/11).

No where in my post did I mention that I believed the Daesh were in Mexico. The cartels would annihilate them unless they were bringing in heroine, but that would make the Daesh apostates, which they seem to take very seriously.

Crazy MF's might be a better insult, but calling them Daesh is a lot more effective. I don't want to be any part of promoting that group the way they want to be promoted. Eff the Daesh.

 

It's the great Right wing tactic... Use fear to pander towards a base that would never support your supply side economics. Create an enemy class(Muslims, Mexicans, and Blacks) that will distract the lower middle and poor white classes.

The slave owners before and during the Civil War accomplished the same feat. Propagate a notion that every man can aspire to one day own slaves and that the Yankees are taking that right of yours away. Hence, a bunch of poor southerners fighting and dying for the right of the wealthy to own slaves.

 

Exactly. Interesting never heard the angle about the slave owners pushing the threat to the freedom of poor whites to eventually own their own slave(s).

Has Drudge, Limbaugh, Fox News and the bigger outlets started pushing the ISIS camps on the Mexican border story yet?

 

This is really dumb, in my humble opinion. It is the left that is the master of identity politics.
