I did a report on him in elementary... He was my hero when I read that he ended slavery, then my drunk afro-centric uncle told me " He really could care less about ending slavery, just did it just because of the Union ..... lol... Even funnier reading that Robert E Lee fought for slavery only because of his dedication to Virginia... Switch em up and they basically are the same..lol

Don't forget his time traveling comeback appearance in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" in the 1980s.

I think Lincoln personally was always against slavery but balanced that with other issues. Initially Lincoln considered preserving the Union of paramount importance and was willing to tolerate slavery if it kept the Union together. His views changed (evolved) as the war dragged on and realized that there was no way of having a Union where slavery still existed.

Robert E. Lee's views on slavery are very complicated and there is a fear amount of evidence that he actually considered slavery immoral. He went along with it as that was the culture he was brought up in and considered it the will of God. It is very clear that his primary motivation for fighting the Civil War was because of loyalty to Virginia and if not for that he likely would've commanded the Union army.

Abe's autograph is on ebay for 100k.

His wife's auto was on ebay for 5k last month. Which I thought was a steal given I've never seen it before.
