Win Win Situation. We either get 14th pick or #2 Seed.

What would you prefer?

  1. 18th Pick + #2 Seed vs. Mavs in the first round (+guaranteed HCA against Spurs(?) in 2nd round)

  2. 14th Pick + #5 Seed vs. Blazers in the first round (+no home court against GSW in the second round)

  3. Some other scenario where Clippers lose or Rockets lose (which seems highly unlikely)

    Honestly.

If we get the second seed... it's solid.

But what works really well is a potential Spurs vs GSW match-up in second round.
Rockets vs Clips/Grizzlies in 2nd... potentially.

SAS might have the best chance to eliminate GSW.

SAS vs Rockets (with HCA) in WCF? I'm about that life.

    We can only dream right?

I think even better scenario would be for us to secure the 2 seed with a Rockets win and Clippers win and Spurs and Grizzlies loss. That way seeding can be as follows:

    2 - Rockets
    3 - Clippers
    5 - Spurs
    6 - Grizzlies.

We don't have to face Spurs or GSW until the WCF, and we are guaranteed HCA for both the 1st and 2nd round, and even the WCF should Spurs advance.

This is a tough one. I'd say being the 5th seed isn't a healthy proposition for getting past the second round with Warriors at number 1.

Depending on how things go, there's a decent chance we end playing the Spurs, and that's not really a fun prospect with or without home court advantage. If the Spurs could somehow get the 5 seed (I'm not sure if this possible at this point), that would put them in the same bracket half as the Warriors, which would greatly help our chances of getting to the WCFs. I guess I'd take the 2 seed to answer the question posed, though.

contusion is just a fancy word for bruise. He has a bruised knee. Could be a day could be a week...just depends on how bad it is

The strange thing about the injury was that it was non-contact. I'd imagine that they will go for a conservative approach and hold him out until game 2.

It seems like most of us prefer #2 seed with 18th pick. Let's take care of Jazz tomorrow and cheer for Pacers (vs Grizzlies) and Pelicans (vs. Spurs) to win, so that we can avoid GSW and Spurs until WCF!!! Best case seeding scenario if all chips fall in place.

    1. Warriors
    2. Rockets
    3. Clippers
    4. Blazers
    5. Spurs
    6. Grizzlies
    7. Mavs
    8. Pelicans

Take the 2nd seed to beat down Dallas. Only choose the 5th seed if the lottery pick is #4 or #5.

I think it is pretty much the same. I remember GSW was the only team that could beat the Spurs 2 out 4 a year when other teams even failed to win once.

That was when Klay Thompson wasn't himself.

Honestly, I would be happy to just see Rockets get out of 1st round... I really wish Spurs would fall to 5th seed after all games so that we wouldn't have to face either GSW or Spurs until the WCF. Who knows, by then PatBev may be back to lock down Curry/Parker. Wishful thinking.

That'll require Rockets win, Spurs loss, and Grizzlies loss today. 5% chance?

Golden state will be at their weakest right after the first round. WHO ever they play In the first round will be a cake walk and give them a false sense of security going into the second round.

Thats when we walk on there home courtand and smack them like we did to the Lakers In 2009 and steal home court.
