After considering the 13 fewer games that Davis has played, and using the hypothetical criteria above, I'll still take AD.

Fair play to you. I think most others (the media) would prefer to vote for either of the players that played most of the 82 games- Curry and Harden.

    Do you.

Is it a legitimate factor? Absolutely. It sounds like you want a firm line in the sand, though. Playing 13 fewer games is too many. How about if Davis only played 7 fewer? 5?

It is a highly subjective award and can't simply be won on paper. 13 fewer games would hurt Davis' chances with me, but wouldn't overshadow the rest of what he has done this season.

My vote still goes to Curry, though.

When we lost 2 rotation players, especially Dmo, the season as far as any chance of success at a team level was gone

We still have both our 2 Superstars and still a pretty good supporting cast.. have a little faith..realize that the millions of dollars these players get to put a ball in a metal circle is enough of an individual reward..we as "Rockets" fans should only worry about the big picture and that is championships..because at the end of the day.. MVP,Scoring titles and any other individual rewards..don't mean d***...

And thus begin the excuses. Those 2 rotation players are replaceable. Rox have enough depth already to replace those guys. Had those 2 rotation players were playing there would be weaknesses in other areas of the game.

It comes down to Harden and Howard. Period. If your superstars are not who they are supposed to be, it doesn't matter what the rotation players do, especially considering how deep the rockets are

No they can't, because their skillsets aren't replicated by anyone

You take Redick and Crawford off the Clippers and they're boned, 2 superstars (+ another max) are still there and they're still screwed

Take Green and Iggy off the Warriors and that's it for them

Just Matthews is the end for the Blazers, try adding Lopez to that mix and see what happens

And on and on and on and on

This conference is way way way way way too competitive for anyone to be carrying injuries, the superstars get teams into the battle, but the actual battle is one decided by inches. The thing with superstars in this conference is "they have them too", the last time a team won a title on just a superstar romp was 2001, everyone else needed their core role players.

Bro thats the point thats why they are called role players. Not everyone has the same skillset but they all bring something different to the table. Our elite players like Harden and Howard are so good at what they do that they can cover those weaknesses thats why they get paid what they get paid and are front and center of the team. The role players play a role, they compliment our stars and fill a need

If the Clippers don't do what they do regardless of Redick or Jordan's absence it will fall squarely on CP3 and Blake's shoulders

Klay Thompson with 26 points in 2nd quarter right now. What player on the Rockets besides Harden can do that.

When a shooter like that is in such rhythm, there is nothing you can do...but foul his a$$ hard just to stop getting embarrassed.

That is so crazy. 51 points for a guy who has never scored 30 in another game. In fact, he hasn't scored 51 points in any other two consecutive games.

The things i bolded are contradictory statements. More specifically, the latter is true, the prior is false

Extrapolate what "fill a need" actually means, what is a need? what happens when it's not filled?

Yo Easy, please bump some of those posts from a few weeks ago about on off and plus minus after the Warriors scrubs put up a smooth -30 in 12 minutes of garbage work vs the Grizzly bench.

I can only think of one time a Rocket surpassed 30 point this season that wasn't Harden. It was Howard against a hobbled Spurs team early in the season, and even then it was only 32 points. Are there any other instances? lolol

Honestly, its a big game if anyone on the Rockets but Harden if they can surpass 20 points, Howard included nowadays.

Not saying points mean everything but damn, it's pretty disheartening to see other teams have multiple scorers while we have one, who is also our best playmakers as well.

Totally agree. Harden has done the most with the least amount of help. IMO he should be the clear MVP.

Curry- #1 seed but has superstars/allstars around him. Take Curry out plug in Lowry and Warriors are still good. Take Harden out plug in Iguodala and the Rockets miss playoffs.

Westbrook- fighting for 8th seed. Current scoring leader with highest PPG but has no good players around him. He's statpadding on a Durant-less OKC.
