Nope, once he started creating satellite monikers he forfeited his rights as THE "DD". Sorry, bub.

I think they'll get into why it isn't in a few episodes (I'm on 5). It's like that Scientology documentary. It's grounded for awhile, then they start dropping Xenu on you down the road.

I get that there is a reason, but for 95% of the show he behaves no differently than a non-blind person would.

Probably one of the draw backs of the show so far; I'm on episode 5. If you're not familiar with Daredevil you have no Idea why he is so good at "seeing"; they haven't gotten into how he can do what he does.

Because of his abilities he can pretty much see as much as a person with sight. Hopefully they will get into some of his vulnerabilities besides being a punching bag.

I find it pretty funny that they try to cut back on the origin story in a 13 episode show but try to make it the focus of a 2 hour movie.

It is an act. The chemical spill from the beginning took his eye sight, but enhanced his other senses to superhuman levels. He uses the cane, but doesn't need to. He just doesn't want anyone to know he can do the things he does.

The way it's shot reminded me of the Phantom mini-series. It's amazing how it hasn't caught on how good cinematography can elevate a smaller budget TV show while crappy props and CGI that cost half the budget does the opposite.

It's also avoided the camp and Power Rangers feel unlike Arrow, Flash, & the other Marvel show.

I thought the series was great over all. Not perfect, but very good. Any complaints I had were minor or nitpicks.
Quick thoughts on the entire series:
First off it was 1000% better than the Ben Affleck movie. The fight scenes were well done, great cast, the characters were generally well developed and I cared about who they were. Nice foreshadowing with the Japanese and the Triad to likely tie in elements to the Iron Fist show when it airs.

Nitpicks: I wasn't 100% satisfied with the writing for Fisk and the Vanessa relationship felt a bit forced. The dynamic of being so powerful and careful that he controlled the entire town and yet constantly being questioned by his partners and being so emotionally rash seemed kind of conflicting. I know they tried to paint his behavior as this was caused by Vanessa, but it felt a bit off. Also would have been nice to give some background on how he went from poor boy who killed his dad to one of the richest and most powerful guys in the city. That and making him fall in season 1. No doubt he will be back at some point or in some form but I didn't expect him to be arrested in season 1. I was also a bit surprised that Ben died being one of the staple reporters for Marvel comics.

I was really happy with the series as a whole and looking forward to the rest of Netflix Marvel line up including AKA Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and the Defenders team up over the next year or so. If the viewership and ratings for Daredevil are what I expect, then we should get at least a few more seasons following this one and it's not unreasonable to think they could be a year apart like House of Cards has been.

I'm only at episode 6, but the only disability from being blind that I've seen him have is he can't read a smart phone lol.

Episode 7 will clear up some more for you on why that is.

    Explanation of Daredevils powers:
From the comics more so than the show:

Although Daredevil is blind, his remaining four senses function with high levels of superhuman accuracy and sensitivity, giving him abilities far beyond the limits of a sighted person; few know that the hero cannot see. Daredevil developed a radar sense, which is similar to echolocation.

Due to the character's sensitive sense of touch, Daredevil can read by passing his fingers over the letters on a page though laminated pages prevent him from reading the ink. Daredevil has commonly used his superhuman hearing to serve as a lie detector for interrogation by listening for changes in a person's heartbeat. This ability can be fooled if the other person's heart is not beating at a natural rate, such as if they have a pacemaker.

Just as Daredevil's other senses are stronger, they are also sensitive; his main weakness is his vulnerability to powerful sounds or odors that can be used to temporarily weaken his radar sense. This weakness is often used to immobilize Daredevil if he is bombarded by too much sound, which will cause him great pain and disorient him. Since Daredevil's means of sight is based on what his radar sense and enhanced senses are able to detect, if anybody or anything around him does not exhibit any of these factors, then Daredevil would be unable to sense it.

While his radar sense mostly compensates for his blindness, it has certain limitations. He can't perceive color without touch, and he can only read printed matter if the ink is raised enough for his sense of touch. Most photographs, televisions, and computer screens are blank to him. He has also been shown to have difficulty perceiving a person's race (without cues other than skin color).

I can see the potential for including Daredevil in the Captain america civil war movie, along with Spiderman and the rest of the Defenders. The Punisher could also overlap as both a foe and ally if they decide to make that series in the future on Netflix.

I'm far from a Marvel fan (DC nerd), but three episodes in and this series is pretty fantastic. I've never liked Marvel because it wasn't dark enough, but this show is legitly great.

Basically he's a blind Jason Bourne, and there ain't nothin' wrong with that.

Frank Miller defined some of the most popular story lines for both Batman and Daredevil, so it's not coincidence they both became much darker and similar after his work on them.

Yup, I was just having that discussion with friends this afternoon - and even more so than Daredevil, is Black Panther.

While I agree Kingpin has been up and down, I wouldn't go so far as to say that he (Vincent Donofrio) "can't act"
He clearly has acting chops, I just think this portrayal of Kingpin as a deeply disturbed/maniacal crimelord is just coming off wrong. I do appreciate the effort tho, in stark comparison to Michael Clark Duncan's version..

I think he'll get more disturbed as time goes on within the story arc.

So setting a guy on fire and watching him burn to death isn't considered killing?

I'm thinking DD can play the role in Civil War that Spiderman plays in the comic. Especially if that law firm were to get big. Seems perfect. People he's close to. Dangerous people are after him. He lives in a vulnerable area. Has a legitimate secret life, not a full-time hero. Doesn't have the resources to protect himself in a fortress like an Avenger.

I'm only on episode 5 though, for all I know they sold the law firm to HH&M. But he fits the bill. A 16 year old, high school, Peter Parker cant carry that role.

Seriously impressed by this show of my fave Marvel Hero. Very very dark and gritty. Can't believe that dude impaled himself once he dropped Kingpin's real name, off the charts brutal.
