I don't think you get what I was saying. From season 1, Illyrio was working with Dany (and her brother) and also Varys. We didn't know WHAT the conspiracy was at the time, but we know they were in it together because we saw Varys and Illyrio speaking in secret. So from Season 1, Ep 1, the plot was afoot to replace Robert Baratheon with a Targaryen. So with all that established, why did Varys try to have Dany killed? Forget "honor," there's no way he would have felt honor bound to obey the King he was trying to replace. "Man, I'm trying to overthrow King Robert and put Dany on the throne, but now Robert wants me to kill her. Shucks!"
Its season 5 of this show and people still can't stop themselves from commenting on things that have not happened yet smh ... Most people come to this thread to discuss what just happened in the latest episode and have no interest in getting the smallest hint of what is going to happen in the future, the fact that there is a small minority that still have trouble understanding this boggles my mind.
honestly I feel like the only reason he is there is to provide shock value to the audience with the gay sex scenes. he feels guilty about killing the woman he loved, and his own father. No matter how much we think they deserved it, Tyrion's compassion is on full display here. I agree this storyline is going nowhere. I don't think he cared since the Lannisters owed him a huge debt.
and dont forget, he is the one who told Robert about Danys being pregnant. He HAD to know what would have happened if he told Robert that Dany was was about to give birth to a prince of the biggest Dothraki horde
Maybe Varys was trying to get the Dany's brother on the throne initially and that's why he was okay with carrying out Robert's plan to kill her. I don't remember if the brother was already dead at this point or not? Even if he was, maybe Varys didn't know he was dead.
So Robert ordered Varys to attempt to assassinate Dany, but Jorah was still on the payroll at that time right? Wasn't he the one who thwarted it?
Here's my breakdown of what went down.. Varys and Illyrio plan on returning a Targaryen to the throne. Robert can very well send any sellsword to kill Dany so knowing this Varys needs to gain Robert's trust in order to play an active role in the assassination plans and ultimately sabotage them from within. With that in mind, he feeds Robert info in regards to Dany and her whereabouts. Varys then leaks assassination plans to Ser Jorah to defuse the situation. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer. But if you want to keep things simple... she didn't have Dragons back then.
LOL, I only just realised Stannis's wife is played by Tara Fitzgerald who was in "Sirens" an infamous arty Nudie flick in its day featuring Elle MacPherson & Portia De Rossi. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JTzat7vRdCQ?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
i came across this article from last year where there's a quote from the director about the Season 4 finale. this clears things up about the hound I guess, for those still wondering. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2014...4-finale-are-all-those-characters-really-dead
So idk if this has been mentioned anywhere already but first 4 episodes have leaked. https://kickass.to/game-of-thrones-hdtv-season-5-ep-1-4-kaugip-t10495684.html
For those who've seen the leaked episodes... Spoiler in episode three when Varys and Tyrion are walking thru the Volantis market and they see the red priestess preaching, what do you think the significance of her "sensing" Tyrion and staring at him was?
this is why i've stayed out of this thread until today... thankfully your post is the first i've read and apparently what i've imagined has been going on in here has been true. i'll be continuing to stay out of here thanks to people who can't keep their mouth shut.
There's been absolutely nothing spoilered, you are safe to read the thread. Just some guys going mad over me vaguely commenting on pace without mentioning anything else.
so, not only do we have book readers spoilers things, but now we have ppl who watched the **** quality screen capture vids talking about "I won't spoiler anything, but this is the gist of what happens in the first three eps" sigh.
