Same, I was angry at what appeared to be an actor switch, shocked at what happened, and then relieved to see that Grey Worm is live and well.
I also thought it was an actor switch until they slit his throat. Knew they wouldn't off him like that. i look forward to each episode, I couldn't imagine binge watching some **** quality version of it just because it's available. We waited a whole year, enjoy the ride.
I was hoping it was an actor switch since I think grey worm is too skinny to be believe he is the best fighter of the bunch. The other guy was jacked at least.
http://www.vox.com/2015/4/12/8387339/jon-snow-game-of-thrones-awful Summarizes whats wrong with him to a tee. All of Jon's scenes should be sent to the deleted scenes section of the DVDs.
Dude is picking nits seemingly just for the sake of writing a thousand-word hot take. If Snow's secret is an extremely significant plot development, which he's intimating that it indeed is, how else is it supposed to be presented to have any sort of dramatic impact? It's necessary for the character who harbors the secret to have had a significant role in the show. You can't just throw a character in 5 seasons in, jam in some quick exposition, and expect the audience to give much of a crap about their claim to the throne.
Using info from up to episode 4 of this season. Obviously don't click if you have't watched them yet. Spoiler I definitely thought Jon Snow's role improved greatly in season 5. He was always my least favourite character, for all the reasons that article wrote, but up to episode 4, it shows him standing up to a fricking King, showing compassion when needed, and also carrying out justice when deserved. Also the scene with Melissandre was quite touching, finally adding a more human element to Snow. No idea if this will last until the end of this season, but I'm liking the new Jon Snow much more than before.
His secret was hinted at since Season 1 in the books, most often alongside ominous prophecies concerning the fate of the world and such. Book readers have written textbooks (figuratively) trying to figure out that secret, which shows how compelling it as presented in the novels. That they only bring it out now is a fault of the show. And what the article said about Jon Snow lacking any engaging presence or scenes rings true to me, which I think is equally the fault of the actor and the writing.
All I got from the premier was Missandei is thirsty. Furthermore, I watched episode 2. Don't judge me.
The slave girl. Didn't realize their names were so close. Melisandre looking good this season! Have we ever seen this chick in sunlight?
Ahh I see. Yeah, Melisandre had the hots for Jon snow in the first ep too. Must be something in the name, hah.
Won't spoiler anything, but the first three episodes are pretty slow and set up things for future episodes. Don't expect heavy action in the next three weeks.
Way too much man ass in this episode. Didn't help that Khaleesi got all modest by pulling up her comforter. Awful.
Thought it was a solid premiere, lots of set up as usual but it's still the quickest hour on TV for me. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
i was really disappointed with this episode, it started off really awesome and then nothing happened,
