Good point; that's fair enough. Thing is that, IMO, we need an X's and O's type of coach that can make adjustments during games and to figure out how to stop an opposing teams momentum. In the playoffs, both in-game adjustments and game-to-game adjustments are more critical than during the regular 82-games. Talent can only get you so far, but in the playoffs, both X's and O's and an overall defined structure can be the key to winning it all or not winning it all.
No, I absolutely, categorically disagree. It isn't the GM's job to transform a cast off Josh Smith into a player to be reckoned with. It isn't a GM's job to take a player who could not even get off the very end of the bench for a terrible team and turn him into arguably the best 6th man in the NBA. It isn't the GM's job to develop DMo and TJones into the players that they are. It isn't the GM's job to develop a Joey Dorsey who was absolutely worthless early in the season into someone who can help the team in spot minutes. No GM in the NBA ever has anything to do with team chemistry. No GM in the NBA has any responsibilities for juggling the line-ups to adjust for the most player lost time due to injury of any NBA team in the playoffs. It isn't the GM's job to get the most out of his players. You folks vastly underestimate the contributions that Coach McHale has made to this team, the players, and the franchise. He may be approaching the time when the team needs to consider going a different path to get to a championship...but he has done a magnificent job to this point, one that I doubt anyone could surpass in the circumstances.
I do not understand why he didn't attempt to call a TO or force a foul to take Smith out. He let Terrence Jones sit by the sideline like a puppy expecting that the Spurs would just allow him to get in. A puppet he is. Absolutely clueless when it comes to making KEY in game decisions. He undoubtedly fails at this.
McHale has about the same real-time decision making skills as Jeremy Lin. Unfortunately McHale is the coach whos only job is making decisions.
I was about to post this. The Rox have collapsed at the end of every season this idiot has been coach. But I'm still more upset with the front office at this point.
we need to lose again in thr first round, thats the only way to get him fired. wat a waste of season.
Is there an explanation on why he kept Smith in so long? I mean I would pull his ass when the first 0-2 happened. But at least do it when he goes 1-4. Don't wait till he's 2-8.
Okay, I have avoided calling for McHale's head but if he is not smart enough to get Smith out of the game when he can't buy a foul shot then he should be fired immediately. That was ridiculous. Time to can McHale and promote Bickerstaff.
