doesn't sound like this surgery is serious though..hopefully he rehabs well and comes back a beast next year..sucks bad for this season tho

Good to hear. I just hope he's the same D-Mo(aside from rebounding) as last season. Sometimes a player ain't quite the same that first season after back surgery(see Dwight with the Lakers or Quitten with the Rockets).
Maybe the silver lining is he gets time off from his national team? Playing for the national team can help young guys mature - see Curry, Harden - but for the foreigners who have been doing it for 5,6,7 years already, it just seems to put too much wear and tear on their bodies - see Yao.
only thing that sucks is he's out most of the summer when that's the time most players who are committed use this time to get better or stay ready.
Don't think it will have a big big impact on him... as he's not so dependent on his athletic ability... He'll be again CAPTAIN HOOK!
For a guy that tall and big with that kind of lateral quickness. There is much athleticism involved in Dmo's game.
Those exit interviews are tough. I still don't know why Ariza even left the Lakers. But as heart felt as some of what they said was, it's all about business which is the reality.
