Yeah the dash cam pretty much helped confirm that the dead guy was a moron, but I saw nothing that could possibly excuse the cop's actions. The dead man was an idiot, the cop was a murderer.

I don't want to out you but u remember reading reviews about you and I think you are a little younger than maybe you feel! ;)

I did a little reading on that pool picture

Those protesters in the pool chose that motel randomly and the owner was trying to get the protesters -- white and black -- out of his pool. The acid wasn't harmful due to all the water in the pool -- a cop actually jumped in and arrested those protesters after the acid was poured in.

If we're going to research completely irrelevant photos, why not this one? It's at least entertaining.

Because it doesn't trivialize the civil rights movement and the very real pain and suffering racism has caused and continues to cause in America.

The police arresting the protestors and the "pool" makes throwing acid at protestors A-OK. alright: show me how the rest of what happened in that era is A-OK.

Again, all of that is completely off topic and doesn't relate to this thread in any way. If you want to talk about 50 and 60 year old civil rights issues, make a thread for it. Let's leave this thread for things relating in any way at all to this incident.

Yes, you're absolutely correct in not being born when that happened- but we were exposed to a lot of info in the 70s about these types of incidents, and when you're a kid exposed to stuff like this, it makes an impression. Like, I wasn't born during the race riots in Chicago, but it was talked about in our family due to relatives.

You know, I remember one time working at a Mr. Gattis off I-45 near the Holzwarth exit- near Spring HS- it was a little delivery store off the feeder- and the KKK was demonstrating on the side of the freeway near our store. The irony was that we had one delivery driver, Ralph, and he was black. We considered having Ralph bring pizzas out to them, "Hey boys, y'all hungry??" I think the only thing that Ralph did was drive by them and slow down enough to yell "Have a pleasant day!" I think that was late 80s.

Not that recent, but still- wow. The picture I posted is absolutely related to this thread- because this has proven to be a problem that has a racial element to it. Not every single post has to be exactly about the incident.

That being said, why did he start running from his car the first time? Not saying at all what happened was justified, but that just struck me as strange- like he bolted out for no reason.

You're seriously trying to justify pouring acid in a pool of people? What is the matter with you???? Seriously, you've got issues, man. I don't care if the acid tasted like cotton candy, it's friggin acid, for criminy sakes. Dios Mio.

They've lived their lives being black in this country the minute they were dragged off the slave ships. If only they could forget they were black despite being screwed over for it for hundreds of years in this country. You guys are a riot.

I've never heard so much race hustler whining. You guys are professionals or something.

Coke is an acid too, but the heart of your argument still stands.

That disgusting excuse for a human being was willing to harm his fellow man due to racism.

Stop. YOU are the problem. You ASSUME racism, when it may or may not actually be the case. You need to learn how to think critically and not jump to conclusions based on first impressions or an incomplete set of facts. This will hold you back in life and cause you to make poor decisions. I'm trying to help you here, son.

    1) These were protesters who randomly chose this motel's pool to jump in. There were whites and blacks in the pool. Could the motel owner preferred not to have his private property and guests disturbed by protesters?

    2) Acid is used to clean pools. It was not harmful in the amount poured in, and in fact a cop jumped in right after this and arrested the protesters.

Use this as a learning experience to improve your ability to think.

^ I am starting a riot right now!! Outrageous! Actually I just laughed my ass off! That poor b*stard took a beating by every officer that came up, even the ones that arrived late casually walked up and got a shot in.
