.....yeah he really is. You should probably go back to trying to trade Harden for Kevin Love.

Motiejunas to Lithuanian sources: "Doctors told me to have a surgery or the injury could be career-ending". Holy mother of god.

No you do not have a hole at that position. Our biggest issue is at the PG position and backup Center position. Those two are very capable of starting at PF. Again stop it with this love affair with Dmo. Yes his presence will be missed but we will alright at that position.

Thanx Normallus for the update! My father had the same surgery ( there is a genetic component to herniated discs and I got the same condition) and the doctor told him that in the start the result is great for every patient but it can reappear after some years for a significant percent of the patients. It is also dangerous surgery that's why it is only performed if the pain is unbearable.
On the bright side, that was about 5 years ago and in Greece so maybe with the advance in medicine and the top notch doctors in USA , and him being a athlete in his 20s, DMO will have a lot better prognosis.
    Hoping for the best!

I saw him bend over late in the last game he played. Was it the Suns game?

So he got it first during practice? What do they do in practice? First, Papa gets a bad sprain and now DMo got a bad back.

And is it the same as Dwight's back injury?

In his last game, I saw him suddenly bend over and hold his back towards the closing minutes.

According to LITH media, he reported he first sustained it in practice?

Actually, it's according to Donatas itself. He was called by media and gave some answers. But you never trust media guys, it may be a lie as well to get some more clicks...

There's a huge problem with Lithuanian media mis-quoting DMo or taking what he says out of context. I want to see something reported by American sources before I believe it.

Can't believe some people where so high on this guy and refused to trade him for Dragic.

From the lithuanian reports, it looks like he might not ever be the same after surgery.

This. Dmo probably said "It's not career ending but may get surgery" or something of that nature.

well it's very possible he first sustained it in practice but then with some rest the pain went away and he played vs the NOP only to aggravate it further.
It's not the type of injury to just suddendly fall down and can't move and the pain can flunctuate depending on the day and the rest.
It seems to me that DMO didn't report it at first to the medical staff because if he had an MRI they would immediately diagnose it and wouldn't have let him play and risk aggravating it with the playoffs coming.

where did you get that from? If the surgery is succesful and the condition doesn't reappear some years/months later then he will be 100% the same after the surgery. His athleticism and skills will be exactly the same as before.
For all we know, with the expert doctors that will perform the surgery on DMO the probability of even reappearing could be zero.
