One random regular season game result says very little about a teams ability to go somewhere in the playoffs. I won't be getting too high if we win or too low if we lose.
Rockets were crushing OKC just as bad as the Spurs are doing now; Rockets just didn't finish the job. Rocket stopped playing in the 4th quarter when they were supposed to be finishing the game. It happens all the time with the Rockets.
Weren't we up 10 after one quarter? They made their run in the 4th quarter. The problem is this game may be over before then if OKC doesn't get their sh-t together.
Our only hope is that OKC can at least keep the score within 10 so the Spurs play their regulars? What if OKC is losing on purpose to mess with us? LOL
The lead only got up to like 13 in that game, could never expand the lead past that for whatever reason. Spurs already had it up to 19 in the first quarter.
Call it an excuse if you want to. B2B fatigue is a factor, but way overrated in my opinion. Because Leonard is so good defensively by his play and reputation the refs will let him get away with grabbing players. That Monta steal comes to mind I understand how good the Spurs are but Leonard is the only one that scares me because Harden is so careless with the ball in stretches. I expect the Rockets to come out and play well though.
No. They're just folding under pressure. Waiters and Kanter come from losing environments. They're not used to this. OKC is also blowing an opportunity tonight since the Pelicans are down at home to the Warriors.
I did watch the game, mind you. Our lead never got to be more than 13, and even then our lead kept decreasing throughout the game. We could never build on the lead like the Spurs have done taking a 19 point 1st quarter lead to 25 now. OKC doesn't even look competent at this point. Spurs have torn them apart.
Great thing is that this game will probably help Harden big time in the scoring title race the way it's going
Tomorrow if we win will be a huge statement in addition to being important for the standings. Hope dwight is motivated and has his first dominant game.
Dwight was pretty dominant against OKC, I'd say, but yeah...the Spurs are gonna make sure Harden doesn't beat them with Leonard on him. Others have to step up.
Unless Harden struggles too but then he has to face the Spurs twice, so if he has two bad games then it would hurt Harden more. MVP is going through the Spurs. Curry, Westbrook and Harden each have a chance to make statements. Harden doubly so. If Harden can have huge games and the Rockets win 1 (preferably both) games, major points go to Harden for MVP, in my opinion. OKC finally waking up.
