Pops is a devious fella. He is likely to rest some players tonight and go full bore against us tomorrow.
he can't afford to take a loss to an inferior team to rest up for a team that they have had trouble beating lately.
Precisely why Pops is the devil. We don't really know what is his thinking concerning b2b games. You think he goes all out for the next 2 games?
I think he wont go all out. but he may lose two games because of it. may rest Ginobli to see if he can get Patty Mills going.
I think these next two games are the most important games of the season. Will be very telling of what to expect in the playoffs.
He'll play his guys. What he won't do is give them heavy minutes tonight. That's what happened in Dallas a few weeks ago when the Spurs lost there. Pop left a bunch of bench guys along with Kawhi on the floor late in the game since they had another game the next night.
They are hot but the media sure is quiet about how we are hot too: Spurs Since ASG: 17-7 .708 Rockets Since ASG: 17-7 .708 And we JUST got Howard back, just got TJ, then lost TJ, lost Beverley, then lost everybody, and we're now just finally getting some people back. At this point I think we deserve the diss until we get deep into the playoffs. I'm totally fine with that. Hand the MVP to Curry, project us to be out in the 1st round, and let us go prove everyone wrong. The fact that the media is completely silent while Howard returns and alley-oops his way to 20-10 in limited 20 minutes with 90% FG% speaks volumes.
Hoping for the OKC vs Spurs game to go into OT. See what Pop does if that happens. Seriously though, the Spurs will be ready for the Rockets either way. Rockets will need to come out focused early and not get blown out in the 1st quarter like the Warriors on Sunday.
The Spurs are equal parts luck and skill. That is something to be respected, but make no mistake, the Rockets CAN beat them.
I say hell yes they can. In previous games the spurs depth might have prevailed but now the rockets are just as deep and more talented
With the injuries to DMo, Papa, and Bev I think we aren't as deep. If healthy, our 1st, 2nd and 3rd units are better than the Spurs respective units. With health not on our side, it's less clear.
We absolutely need at least 1 win against the Spurs 2-game head-to-head if we want to retain the 2nd seed. I really hope OKC runs them hard tonight...
