I would really like if someone can clarify where its going. Its like it all revolves around his past yet all he does is be more careless and unpredictable.
Watched all 6 seasons these past 3 weeks. Finally finished. What an amazing show with great actors, characters and stories. I love the way the show looks. This is probably one of the best shows I've ever seen. I can't wait until next season.
I'm assuming all the seasons are available on Netflix? I saw the last six episodes from last season and was blown away. Really good show and I want to watch it from the beginning.
Never had the courage to start, just caught an episode on TV for the first time and I really like it. Must, download, all, seasons.
I caught a few episodes on on-demand from season six (last three episodes) a couple weeks ago. This weekend I watched the first three episodes from season one. I'm hooked!!!! This is one of THE best shows I've ever seen. I also caught the episode from season five (on-demand) where Don is given the award. The ending is crazy.
That would be The Wire. Historians might vote for Roots. House of Cards would rank but it's only one season so far.
Didn't say that. Said after 1 season, House of Cards has the potential to be a top mini-series. But it takes a few years of character development to get there, like 1 good football season doesn't define a dynasty. I honestly don't remember much of 'Roots" but I think it is considered a landmark if not the top series. But saying something is "The Best" (like I did with the The Wire) is actually silly, the evaluation is in the eye of the beholder like: I think The Soprano's is just a dark comedy; the people are so dense I have a hard time taking it seriously, but I really loved Damages but everybody else in here hated it. http://www.imdb.com/list/JFm2BSe6h8g/ http://listverse.com/2010/09/28/top-15-miniseries-of-all-time/
Thought it was an average episode. I could be moved towards considering it a solid season premiere for the final half season but it wasn't anything special. Just came across this post you wrote in 2013. Were you smoking something major when you wrote that? I mean, it was in 2013. The Wire and The Soprano's were off the air by then. I believe Breaking Bad was winding up. I have to imagine you never watched The Wire, The Soprano's and Breaking Bad if you consider Mad Men to be "The best show in the history of television".
Pretty good write up and intvws about Mad Men, Weiner and the major cast members http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/mad-men-uncensored-epic-never-780101
What I got from this was, the characters all have aberrant behaviours to compensate from their lack of emotional connections. Don and Roger use gratuitous sex, Peggy denial by work and Joan by consumerism. The first mink model was sooo hooot. Oh and, all men are pigs.
