Anyone have video of the first take segment about harden and any other discussions about harden's mvp chance from espn or anywhere else?
Word. The Cavs would be the 7th seed in the west. Maybe worse if they had to play a West conference/division schedule.
Ha. Spears uses his power rankings to stump for Curry/throw barbs at the rockets. Don't see how this is relevant to the teams performance relative to the Power Rankings.
Great analysis on James Harden... What a tool. I actually am starting to "literally" hate ESPN and sports writers these days. That image above is the perfect representation of how people's personal perceptions taint reality. Harden goes off for 50 in a win against the Kings..."Shouldn't he have put up 55?" Curry goes off for 15 and 7 assists..."THIS IS OUR MVP AT WORK, LADIES AND GENTLEMAN"
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>James Harden named West Player of the Week. He averaged 36.8 points on 51.2% FG, 5.8 ast, 5.8 reb, 2.0 stls. This is from First Take today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUeLvxtD_dM&spfreload=10 If you click on the channel it has the other First Take videos on Harden as well.
I am going to say it... If Curry wins MVP over Harden this year then the MVP means nothing. It'll be a tainted award that doesn't go to the most deserving but to the most popular and whoever the NBA (and ESPN) is pushing for to suit their agenda. Freaking hate this
Bayless: "Too early to judge - Harden has to play my Spurs." SAS: "Not voting against Harden, but Curry is also good." They basically had a conversation that went nowhere and then SAS randomly blasted Skip about Spurs basketball talk WHILE STILL ON THE MVP SEGMENT. 8 minutes of wasted time smh.
I wouldn't go that far. Curry is deserving of MVP. I do think Harden has a more compelling case. But maybe Curry winning could be a good thing. I want a PO'd, motivated Harden in the playoffs. Not to mention an entire media forced to eat crow should Curry and his team flame out in the postseason.
The whole "Warriors don't care about MVP, focus on winning" narrative is such BS. Especially when you see stuff like this: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Curry's thoughts on Mark Jackson's MVP take, this time with a typo fixed <a href="http://t.co/cBAoUyeFK9">pic.twitter.com/cBAoUyeFK9</a></p>— Ethan Strauss (@SherwoodStrauss) <a href="https://twitter.com/SherwoodStrauss/status/584080718222897152">April 3, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> and <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Andrew Bogut: Stephen Curry is the MVP, and ‘I don’t think it’s close’ <a href="http://t.co/0OrWljKlwa">http://t.co/0OrWljKlwa</a></p>— Kurt Helin (@basketballtalk) <a href="https://twitter.com/basketballtalk/status/580749068688703488">March 25, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I dont think the media has choses Curry over Harden as much as some people are saying. Alot of the media has in fact said that Harden should be MVP. Most of the online MVP ladders and such have Harden in the lead. Arent these the same people who will be voting?
If that poll on ESPN is to be believed, it sounds like(and this is what Stephen A. is theorizing) the people voting think Harden SHOULD be the MVP based on what he's done, but that nevertheless they're going with Curry because he's the best player on the best team.
http://www.nba.com/media/050614-2013-14-Kia-MVP-Votes.pdf Here is a list of voters from last year. JH: 85 Points SC: 66 Points 14 voters from ESPN or so last year. Bill and Jonathan F. got a vote. OKC voters will probably vote for Harden Dallas and Sa voters will probably vote for Harden NOLA voters will probably vote for Harden Chris Sheridan is in for Harden with this quib: Look at the connections between the teams as well... PHX area will prob vote for Curry SAC area prob vote for Curry --- I say theres not method to my madness nor do I have the time to go and read every person twitter timeline to see how they're voting if they are voting
Mark Jackson just speaking the truth. Glad he didn't turn into a homer when asked about mvp. Harden should win this in a landslide IMO. Westbrook should finish 2nd.
