Which they would have taken a base salary from x player and turned into a signing bonus or something similar. With 53 contracts on a roster, it isn't hard to finagle numbers to get under the cap.

Miami doesn't have a 3rd round pick this year. I can give up Miami's 4th rounder to swap for a 3rd. Washington's pick should be good, but there is a lot of risk. It has to be a top 10 pick for it to pay off. It could end up being 16 or 17 if Washington overachieves.
