You need to get off this forum. So being the scoring leader.. carrying an injury-riddled team... without Howard.. 3rd best team record in the league Harden does all that and still be lazy? GTFO!

Hmm. that also depends on who goes on the court with him... which the stats don't tell the story... Houston has had like 8 different rotations... Where as the warriors pretty much have been injury free. That affects the style of play, chemistry, etc... There is a lot that stats don't say.

The best player on best team argument is stupid.
    Best player = Lebron
Best team = determined in June not April
Curry is neither yet, so why is he MVP?
Most valuable player is exactly that. Which player is most indespensible to that teams's current success?

Harden definitely takes some plays off and can be lazy. Not saying he shouldn't be MVP, but it's definitely valid.

No one is penalizing Steph for having good teammates. But for him to get the MVP he should be putting up bigger numbers, and numbers right now are in no way better than Harden's/Westbrook's. The fact that Harden has put up similar if not better numbers than Curry, and currently has the Rockets at 2nd in the West despite no Howard for most of it and a relatively weak supporting cast is impressive.

Fact is Curry has had ton of help. Curry's numbers are only slightly better than Klay Thompson's.

I swear this forum doesn't deserve Harden. Lazy ? almost 1st in minutes played. carrying the team on his back. played the whole season ( except for one game suspension) facilitator on the team, no real point guard on the team. We lose the lead when Harden sits down. This dude has been carrying the team to the 2nd seeds despite half the team being injured. Definitely valid huh?

LOL you sound like you've watched very few rockets games this year. I'd venture to say you flipped on the nationally televised game yesterday saw Harden avoid the foul on a few fast breaks SINCE HE WAS IN FOUL TROUBLE and have now concluded that Harden is lazy:rolleyes:

    Please GTFO

Surprised nobody has mentioned how the Rockets have trouble scoring when Harden gets doubled at half-court.

I don't think I've ever seen a Rockets team so reliant on one player since Hakeem to produce offense. That is really saying something.

Seriously, kinda embarrassing. With Dwight back, shouldn't have to worry about it anymore, but for that 2 month stretch? Ugh.

Curry never has this problem. Also, making Joey Dorsey look useful on a PnR is a magician's skill.

I think stats in context is something that needs to be emphasized here. His assist numbers, despite "eh" shooters, is remarkable. Something also has to be said about Harden's ridiculous iso percentages and clutch this season. When s**t hits the fan for us on offense, which it often has, we just take for granted Harden bailing us out, time in and time out.

Also, funny I'm saying this, but Harden is a better defender, from what I've seen, than Curry. And I really hope I bring some credibility in that eye test.

Not sure which All-Stars Dirk (in his MVP winning & contending seasons)was playing with post Steve Nash and Fin.
J-Ho made one All star team and that was a replacement. Also, to my knowledge Devin Harris never sniffed an All-star game as a Mavericks player. He might have been in the stands supporting Dirk but he sure wasn't on the court.
When J-Kidd made it as a Mav in 2010, Dirk wasn't being highly considered as the MVP.

Did you actually watch every Rockets game this season or you're just spouting thoughts that came through after watching a handful of games?
Might wanna get that eye checked because I'm not too sure your eye test method is as correct as you think it is.

Perhaps some of that has to do with coaching and some of that has to do with the majority of players on the team staying healthy for the season.

    For real.

Are the Warriors historically good if their 2nd best player Klay Thompson goes out for half the season? What about Bogut missing close to half the season as well? How good are the Rockets if Dwight and Jones are there the whole year?

So pretty much the San Antonio game proved Curry is not MVP. Got completely shut down by leonard then didnt even attempt a comeback and sat the entire 4th quarter LMAO.

Also his post game comments cemented Harden as the MVP. He said something like i wish they would put leonard on me in the playoffs, then the team offense would benefit and we'd win. Confirmed that its the TEAM is successful because of the system/players not because of Curry.

    Harden MVP confirmed

Harden being the 2nd best player this season isn't really an insult.

It is considering he's been the best. What's crazy is that Steph's been the 4th best player of the MVP candidates.

Coach of the Year, potential DPOY, Klay, and yet everyone's still riding this guy's jock strap. Lebron, Russ and Harden are literally the engines that make their teams run. Steph isnt. Not being a homer, I seriously don't understand how he's above LBJ and being argued as the front runner.

They may have a point. If you look at real plus/minus, all of a sudden Curry's lead isn't so big over James and they are neck and neck.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/RPM

    9.16 to 8.66. That's about a 5% difference.

Yes actually it is an insult.
Even if one takes off the Rockets red-tinted glasses, there's no way you should be able to watch every single Rockets game this season and come away thinking or saying "being the 2nd best player this season isn't really an insult" for Harden. FOH.

Well, there are a lot of people that say he hasn't.

And Curry is the engine that makes his team go. That's why his on-off court numbers are even more dramatic than Harden's.

The Curry disrespect is truly blowing my mind on this board. I'm not sure if you guys have even really watched a Golden State game and seen how much of an impact he makes.

Harden still scored a couple hundred points more than him this season. Just sayin'

This whole Curry is the MVP is BS, you don't give the award to the best guy on the best team because that guy was just lucky he plays on a good team and ends up getting embarrassed in the playoffs, like what happened to D Rose (c/o Lebron), Dirk (c/o the Warriors) and the Admiral (c/o Hakeem).

You either give it to guy you think is the absolute best player in the league (Lebron since KD is injured) OR you give it to the guy carrying the team on his back which would be Harden. On what basis would you give it to Curry considering Harden has produced more than him and is a better individual defender than him? Give it to Lebron or Harden, period.
